Middle School Game Notes: Elmore Park vs Collierville 

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I finally made it to an Elmore Park game. Actually, this is my second time catching Elmore Park. The first game was not the best game for me to get a good eval of the players. LOL. So I decided to check them out against Collierville.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>What I learned about Elmore Park - They are scrappy defenders. The 4 starting&nbsp; guards are interchangeable and could possibly run the point position. I got a short view of Leyland's ability in the MBL League's Jamboree. She showed her high energy, strength and ability to attack the basket. Maleah is another player I had a short view of in the MBL League's Jamboree. Not only is Maleah athletic, she is also explosive. In the open court, when she decides to keep going to the basket, she takes her gear up a notch and explodes to the basket. Speaking of the open court, she is a full court defender. Her effort and lateral footwork makes it frustrating for a ball handler.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><br>I'm a little embarrassed to have to share this. This was my first time seeing twins, Jayla and Layla McCracken play. (Other than my first attempt to watch Elmore Park) One wears #4 and the other wears #5. Even with that, I couldn't really tell them a part. What I can share about them, they're both scorers and pesky defenders. She is super quick off the floor and has lateral quickness that allows her to get rebounds. Jordan had a rough scoring night against Elmore Park and she still finished with SIXTEEN POINTS by my unofficial stats. Her growth spurt really adds another dimension to her abilities.  Elmore Park's full court press did not affect her because she could see over the press. If she guarded the inbounder, her wingspan allowed her to get tips or take the ball as it was passed in. Her athleticism and wingspan allows her to jump up quickly and block shots. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
