We have the new polls in all of the divisions around Wisconsin today. Today, we'll highlight a few names of players who have had solid starts to their high school seasons. There are plenty of players who have had standout starts to the 2024-25 season, and they deserve recognition for their impressive beginnings.

Jay Luna Ruiz

The Cedarburg guard has shot the ball well throughout her first few games of her high school season the past few weeks. Ruiz has knocked down four or more three-pointers in two games this season. The Bulldog has a quick trigger from the perimeter and can knock down shots at any point in time from beyond the three-point line. She also has the confidence to take shots with a jumper when she has a defender in her airspace.

Athena Lehman

The Shell Lake forward is a physical player who can control the area around the basket when she's on the floor. Lehman is a double-double threat whenever she steps onto the floor. I also love the way she plays around the basket and uses her body to create space to finish around the basket. She brings an edge to the floor in the paint and will help her team win the rebounding battle against any other small school they may play against in the future.

Zoey Siders

The Valders guard is a talented perimeter shooter who can knock down multiple shots per game from beyond the three-point line. Her ability to move away from the ball and space the floor for her team will open the court for her teammates wherever she plays. Siders has been confident in her minutes on the floor and hasn't hesitated to take shots when she's been open on the catch. Siders will be a crucial aspect for the Valders team, aiming to take that next step in the postseason.

[player_tooltip player_id='1377753' first='Evelyn' last='Nienhuis']

The Sheboygan South newcomer has been an excellent addition to a program looking for a spark. Nienhuis has been able to create with the ball in her hands and has played confidently to start her high school career. I've been impressed with her ability to also play through contact around the basket and find ways to help her team compete in the early portion of the season. She has been one of the more surprising newcomers this season, and will be a player I hope to see before the season ends.
