These upperclassmen have taken noticeable strides over the first few years of their high school careers, steadily adding new dimensions to their games. As they've grown into more complete players, each has helped propel her team to a strong start this season. Here are the upperclassmen who have been catching our eye.    This athletic guard out of Villa Park has steadily added new layers to her game, showing meaningful development across the board. She has refined her natural athleticism into a polished skill set built on misdirection, body control, and an increasingly reliable shooting stroke. Olivia moves with impressive speed yet maintains controlled changes of direction that keep defenders off balance. She operates effectively in tight spaces inside the arc, using spin moves and step‑throughs to create separation for tough finishes. In transition, her blend of speed and poise makes her dynamic—pushing the pace, collapsing defenses, and finding teammates for open threes. She's also a legitimate threat from deep, with a fluid, quick release that forces defenders to guard her beyond the line. Olivia's versatility as a scorer and playmaker makes her a difficult matchup and a well‑rounded guard with a rapidly expanding game.     Tiyana is a cool, calm, and composed guard out of Los Osos. She's decisive and deliberate with the ball, consistently creating space, protecting possessions, and serving as the engine of her team's offense. She handles defensive pressure exceptionally well, often using it to her advantage to get into the paint and finish tough shots at the rim. With her poise and command, she has Los Osos off to a strong start and should continue to set the tone for her team throughout the season.     Charlotte is an elite shooter—one of the best in Southern California. Her range stretches well beyond the arc, making her a legitimate threat the moment she crosses half court. She shoots with unwavering confidence, needing only a sliver of space to get her shot off and capable of catching fire with multiple makes in quick succession. She also demonstrates strong court awareness, navigating screens with purpose and consistently finding the right pockets of space to catch and shoot. Charlotte's combination of deep range, quick release, and high‑level feel makes her one of the most dangerous perimeter scorers in the region.     Amiah Lewis is a complete guard for Mater Dei who plays with poise and purpose. She showcases excellent vision and consistently makes smart decisions to create scoring opportunities for both herself and her teammates. Amiah excels at penetrating the lane, distributing the ball, and controlling the game's tempo with great maturity. She is building off of a strong summer and plays a key role for a Mater Dei squad with high expectations.     Alaysha is a versatile, do‑everything post player for Moreno Valley. She has a deep arsenal of back‑to‑the‑basket and face‑up moves, using her size to establish strong position and her quick feet to maneuver around defenders with a soft touch at the rim. When opponents force her to the perimeter, she remains effective—capable of knocking down threes and attacking late closeouts to create additional scoring chances. She's equally comfortable in the mid‑range, where she can hit turnaround jumpers and leverage a mix of jab steps and head fakes to keep defenders off balance. Alaysha's ability to score at all three levels makes her a constant matchup problem and a reliable focal point for Moreno Valley's offense.     Jordyn is a classic 3‑and‑D contributor for Sierra Canyon. Her shooting is anchored by a quick release and consistently repeatable mechanics, allowing her to get her shot off cleanly under pressure. She sets her feet efficiently and squares her body well, giving her a reliable foundation as a perimeter threat. On the defensive end, she brings far more than effort. Jordyn applies disruptive ball pressure against even the strongest opposing guards and shows natural instincts in jumping passing lanes, timing traps, and closing out possessions with disciplined boxouts. She consistently plays bigger than her listed size, making her an indispensable piece for a Sierra Canyon team with championship aspirations.
