Talent Rising At JV Ravenwood Tournament

It doesn't matter the setting, aau, varsity game, jv tournament, I tend to find someone who really excels at their craft. I tend to see the good in a lot of people and really do feel like at any given moment, someone will reach their confidence and have a breakthrough opportunity. Over the weekend, Ravenwood High School hosted a JV tournament. She's poised with the ball in her hands, makes the right reads, she can knock it down from the arc, or display a quick burst into a counter move on the way to the rim. She plays solid defense, and the team feeds off her energy. She has a nice shot release from 3, but also can drive and take it to the rim. She's a tough defender who keeps her opponent in front, causing them to feel rushed. She runs an offense effectively, hitting the right cutter at the right time. She is a tough defender who causes fits on that end of the floor. She created many turnover opportunities, which led to transition buckets moving in the other direction. Scrappy ballplayer who can knock down the three-ball, but also take it to the rim aggressively. A solid defender who makes it challenging for opponents to operate. Had a solid outing during the tournament, contributing across multiple statistical categories. This kid is a finisher around the rim. She can stretch the floor, but downlow is where she earns her stripes. Loved her ability to handle the rock, finish through contact, and run the lanes in transitional breaks. She is a solid screener, and her team knows how to find her on reversals. Makes timely passes, plays with poise, gets her team into favorable shooting positions, and can score as well, but conducting the show is what she does best. Has a nice set of handles, protecting the ball as she dribbles and weaves through traffic. A dynamic passer who can thread the needle, setting up her teammate for an easy bucket.
