Down to the Wire: Hanover vs. Plymouth South

I had the opportunity to watch a competitive matchup where Hanover edged Plymouth South, 48–45, in a game that stayed close until the final minute. The energy was strong on both ends of the floor, and both teams had solid execution and effort throughout. I am looking forward to continuing covering these teams but in the meantime, here are a few players who stood out.    Lilly is a point guard whose energy and impact stood out. She led her team in scoring with 14 points, shot the three confidently and knocked down multiple threes during the game. She handled the ball well and controlled the tempo, putting her team in good positions. She also did a nice job facilitating and finding teammates. Defensively, she was active, grabbing rebounds and generating deflections.     Sophia was solid on both ends for Plymouth South scoring 11 points. She cleaned up the glass and converted off offensive rebounds. She showed versatility on offense, finishing efficiently in the paint off good passes, offensive boards, knocking down a three, and hitting a pull-up mid-range shot. Defensively, she provided a presence and generated a steal.     Sarah played a steady role for Plymouth South. She helped with ball-handling responsibilities, showed a strong handle, and took care of the ball while helping set the pace. She also shot the three well and scored from beyond the arc.     Riley is a freshman to keep an eye on. She was strong driving to the hoop, generating an and-one on a finish. She made an impact off the bench and scored five points.     Addison showed good size, length, and versatility. Offensively, she demonstrated her stretch-four ability by taking and knocking down threes. She also made her presence felt in the paint with post moves, including a middle hook and a baseline finish where she drew contact. Defensively, she used her length well to impact plays around the rim.     Haley was an impact player for Hanover, finishing with 14 points as the second leading scorer on her team. She was able to score in multiple ways - she rebounded on the offensive end, was able to draw a couple fouls, and shot the three well. Defensively, she generated a steal that led to a fast-break opportunity.     Sawyer stood out with her rebounding and scoring, finishing with a team-high 17 points. She grabbed multiple boards, drew fouls, and got to the line. She also knocked down a three and converted a pull-up in transition. Sawyer was great on offense, making an impact at all three levels.     Rylee made several effort plays that don't always show up on the stat sheet. She worked hard on the glass, grabbing multiple offensive rebounds, and was active defensively with deflections and steals. One play that stood out was a strong save that allowed Hanover to retain possession.
