Thursday morning, Prep Girls Hoops Indiana posted the Winter update for the Class of 2028. Typically accompanying updates are articles highlighting players on the move, newcomers, and just all-around general information regarding each position group. Below is a look at the top combo guards in the state of Indiana, followed by some commentary on a handful of prospects who have played well since the Fall update.

[player_tooltip player_id='896531' first='Luci' last='Reich'], Huntington North H.S.
- I remember watching Luci during the Spring of her 8th Grade year, and she flashed great potential, especially as a perimeter shooting threat. Fast forward a couple of years, and the 5-8 guard is a little taller, she absorbs contact better, plus she has improved her handle and is able to play some point and create for herself & teammates. Recently she scored 16 points and made 3-of-5 3-pointers against a good, young Hamilton Heights team.

[player_tooltip player_id='751047' first='Carlee' last='Lanzer'], New Castle H.S.
- Carlee is probably one of the better young guards in Indiana who people don't know much about. She has nice size and length, she's a fluid athlete, and she can run a team from the point or score the ball from all three levels. She's averaging 14.9 points per game this season while shooting 39% from long range, and as she finishes her growth, look for her to be even more effective as an attacking scorer in and around the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='1228338' first='Hazel' last='Leffers'], Whitko H.S.
- Hazel is a part of a very talented backcourt at Whitko this season, so her stats might not be eye-popping, but she is one of those kids who can contribute every game, just in a different way each time out. If you watch her in the Spring & Summer, she's sure to stack up stats much better. She has speed & quickness, nice length at her size, she plays with a quiet toughness, plus she is a scrappy defender who can really bother the ball-handler.

[player_tooltip player_id='992356' first='Kambry' last='Shoults'], Northview H.S.
- If you aren't from the Terre Haute area, you probably aren't aware that Northview has won 20 or more games each of the last four seasons. They have a good thing going, and Kambry is one of their talented backcourt members. She has some length and a wiry strength to her, she is a capable ball-handler who can facilitate, but she's also an accurate 3-point shooter, a solid rebounder for her size/position, plus she is a very active defender.

[player_tooltip player_id='1262615' first='Makenzie' last='Holtzclaw'], Mooresville H.S.
- Makenzie might not be as tall as some of the others on this last, but she too is effective both on and off the ball. As a primary ball-handler, she utilizes her quickness to get through gaps and put pressure on defenses. Off the ball, she can knock down on open rhythm jumper, plus she can finish in the mid-range game. She's a solid on-ball defender, she's opportunistic when she's defending a pass away, and she plays with a nice motor.
