2029 Forwards Annihalating The Competition

As a freshman, going into a brand new competitive environment can be intimidating, and that's exactly what the high school scene brings. The lights are brighter, and the pressure elevates, so who's stepped up big time? Let's talk about it.

Laila Armstromg has come up huge in her first campaign on Vista Peak's varsity squad. Adding on 9 PPG, 4.5 RPG, and nearly 2 SPG, there is no denying Armstrong makes the most of her minutes. A crafty forward who can swing up to be a guard, Armstrong makes defenses pay for any inch of space to work with. Her fine-tuned jumper and footwork translate into a seamless line of scoring. Communicative on defense, Armstrong switches efficiently on screens and always stays in between passing lanes. In transition, good luck guarding Armstrong as she's lightning quick getting to the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='1239336' first='Addison' last='Horn Reutter'] takes immense pride in her defense, acquiring 3.3 SPG as only a freshman. Her nearly 7 RPG and 5.6 PPG on only 4.3 minutes per game speaks volumes to her focus and consistency early on. Horn Reutter never settles for average looks, which makes sense, seeing as she's shooting 51% from the field. At 5'9, Horn Reutter easily blows by her matchup and weaves her way through defenders to create opportunities for her teammates. [player_tooltip player_id='1239336' first='Addison' last='Horn Reutter'] is just getting her engine started, and her potential is through the roof.

[player_tooltip player_id='1242628' first='Kylah' last='Rogers'] has been crushing it on Regis' JV team, averaging a consistent 11 PPG and dictating the tempo of each game she laces up for. Swinging up for 15 varsity games thus far, Rogers has a locked in mindset that earns her some vital varsity minutes. The 5'8 PF boxes out her matchup well and chases down second chance opportunities. With a soft touch around the rim and patience with the rock, the sky is the limit for a constantly improving Rogers.

[player_tooltip player_id='1259412' first='Brooklyn' last='Meurer'] is an all-around threat who can shoot the ball lights out. Cook's footwork in the paint is way ahead of her class, and Broomfield will continue to refine and create new paths in her game. Entering her first high school campaign, Cook has become more comfortable and confident with the rock, dictating the pace and creating new, innovative ways to dominate on both sides of the ball.
