Strong wing prospect with good size. She created havoc in the press with her speed and instincts and had a big impact on the glass. She boxed out really well and played big in the paint, while also holding up really well with perimeter defense.

Laila’s length and athleticism stood out throughout the weekend. She knocked down shots from deep, handled the ball and showed she could make plays in any role offensively. On the defensive end, her allowed her to switch across positions without missing a beat.

Laila has one of the quickest releases and she gets her shot off at a high enough point that contests don’t bother her. While also having one deepest ranges she is a threat whenever she steps across half court. As her confidence continues to grow and she becomes more comfortable creating for herself. She will surely become one of players to keep an eye on.

Laila earned her spot after a freshman campaign where she made things happen on the offensive end. Her ability to stretch the floor with her shooting makes her a tough matchup. Add in her willingness to defend the full length of the floor and use her size on the boards and you have a guard who affects multiple areas of the game.

Laila Armstromg has come up huge in her first campaign on Vista Peak’s varsity squad. Adding on 9 PPG, 4.5 RPG, and nearly 2 SPG, there is no denying Armstrong makes the most of her minutes. A crafty forward who can swing up to be a guard, Armstrong makes defenses pay for any inch of space to work with. Her fine-tuned jumper and footwork translate into a seamless line of scoring. Communicative on defense, Armstrong switches efficiently on screens and always stays in between passing lanes. In transition, good luck guarding Armstrong as she’s lightning quick getting to the rim.

A guard/wing who is earning quality minutes in every game. While she’s still finding her offensive groove she continues to stay aggressive and confident. That has allowed her to make a real difference on the defensive end of the floor.

Laila’s capable of playing both guard and forward making her a matchup problem. She’s a knockdown shooter from three who stretches the floor. Her quick first step allows her to get into the paint and finish or draw contact. With her size and versatility she will be a key piece who can impact the game in plenty of ways.

Laila has brought her shooting touch and defensive presence to the team this fall. She’s showing her ability to impact the game on both ends with ball handling and unselfish play. Her all-around approach makes her a valuable piece in every lineup.
