[player_tooltip player_id='1143966' first='Bella' last='Hunnicutt'], a talented sophomore, delivered an exceptional performance for the Lady Broncos of Simpson High School during the state regionals playoff game against Johnson Bay. She achieved an impressive 18 points, secured 9 rebounds, executed 3 blocked shots, and contributed 1 assist. Simpson High School currently holds the top ranking in the LHSAA women's basketball playoff bracket. Bella is recognized as a diligent and skilled player whose dedication in practice translates effectively into her game. She is a crucial asset to her team's success, both offensively and defensively. Bella demonstrates remarkable heart and hustle on the court, consistently pursuing plays, facilitating ball movement, and providing leadership. As part of the reigning state champions, Bella and her team are aspiring to secure another championship title this playoff season.

[player_tooltip player_id='879850' first='Annie' last='Thweatt'], wearing jersey number 2, is a center for the esteemed Lady Hawks of Zwolle High School and is a member of the class of 2028. Zwolle, currently ranked 5th in the LHSAA women's basketball bracket, is scheduled to compete against 4th-ranked Negreet. This promises to be a very exciting match. Annie is expected to contribute her size and rim protection to the game, as she averages approximately 4 blocks per game. She is considered an elite rim protector for her team. Additionally, Annie possesses the ability to handle the ball when necessary and has a commendable mid-range shot. Annie serves as the team's second scoring option and is a significant defensive presence on the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='1312951' first='Kylee' last='Richard'], a shooting guard for the Lady Raiders of Reeves High School, wears jersey number 2 and is a member of the class of 2029. Kylee and her teammates are currently ranked 8th in the LHSAA women's basketball bracket and are preparing to face Simpson, who is currently ranked number 1 in the playoff bracket. Kylee is a formidable presence beyond the 3-point line, demonstrating excellent shooting skills. She also handles the ball and on-ball pressure remarkably well for her age. Kylee particularly excels on the defensive end, in my opinion, by forcing turnovers, diving for loose balls, and generally disrupting the opposing offense. She exhibits a high basketball IQ and moves effectively without the ball. She is a crucial asset to her team and will be vital in their upcoming game against the defending state champions.

Charley is a highly talented and skilled athlete, having been recognized as the ACA athlete of the week in January 2026. She is a versatile scorer who can make three-pointers and mid-range shots, but she also excels at driving to the basket and either scoring or setting up her teammates for open shots. Charley is a very unselfish player on the court, consistently sharing the ball and creating scoring opportunities. Her impressive skills make her a key player and leader for her team. We wish her and her team the very best of luck.

Lila Sepulvado, wearing jersey number 5, is a point guard for the Negreet High School Lady Indians and is a member of the class of 2029. Currently, Lila and her team hold the 4th rank in the LHSAA women's basketball bracket. Ms. Sepulvado is recognized as an exceptional point guard, demonstrating excellent ball control and dribbling abilities. She presents a significant offensive threat from all areas of the court and is known for her skill in maneuvering past defenders and successfully making shots. In her recent game against the Zwolle Lady Hawks, she executed a remarkable play, spinning and crossing over two opponents at the top of the key, then driving to the basket with a deceptive pass before finishing at the rim. A video of this impressive sequence is available for viewing on Fastbreak ENT.
