Freshman Friday - End of Season

In our next roundup of Freshie Friday, we look at a few players who have stood out recently, and could impact the post season play, even if they are coming off of the bench.    Mindy has steadily become a reliable presence on the varsity floor for Syracuse, making her impact felt through efficiency and physicality. She shoots at an impressive percentage, largely due to her ability to track rebounds, secure position, and convert put-backs around the rim. Her size gives her a natural advantage in the paint, and as her game continues to develop, her ceiling remains high with plenty of room for growth on both ends of the floor.     Vivienne may be undersized, but her impact is anything but small. She's a relentless on-ball defender with quick hands and great anticipation, consistently bothering ball handlers and disrupting offensive rhythm. Her motor and defensive toughness make her hard to ignore on the floor. As her offensive game continues to develop and round out, her overall value will only rise, giving her the potential to become a true two-way contributor.     Mailey brings good length and plays with a level of poise and patience that's advanced for her age. She impacts the game on both ends of the floor, showing a well-rounded skill set and the ability to deliver precise passes to cutters within the offense. Her feel for spacing and timing stands out, and as Bountiful graduates and moves on from some of its guard play, her role is set to expand. With meaningful varsity minutes already under her belt this season, Mailey is positioning herself as a key piece for the Braves moving forward.     Mia has been a key piece in Provo's region championship run, making an immediate impact as a freshman on both ends of the floor. She stretches defenses with her ability to knock down the three, and when she finds her rhythm, she can take over a game in a hurry. Her agility and advanced basketball IQ allow her to read rotations, anticipate passing lanes, and make smart decisions under pressure. What stands out most is how comfortable she looks in big moments — contributing in ways many players don't consistently do until their sophomore or junior seasons.     Kinzie brings uncommon length for a freshman shooting guard, and she knows how to use it. Her signature reverse layup makes her difficult to time and contest, forcing defenders to adjust mid-play. That added reach gives her angles many guards her age simply don't have. As she continues to gain varsity minutes and grows both physically and within the game, she has the tools to become an important piece in Mountain Ridge's rotation.
