While many teams are in the thick of region play, Wasatch and Bingham both used their bye weeks to stage a compelling 5A vs. 6A matchup. Entering the game, Wasatch, ranked #6 in the state, faced off against Bingham, the #14 team. Though both teams presented a strong challenge, Wasatch demonstrated a significant height advantage throughout the contest.   Who Stood Out   Mahala Speredon, Wasatch   Mahala Speardon of Wasatch ignited the game from the outset, scoring the first six points and forcing a quick Bingham timeout. The performance solidified her status as a top Division 1 prospect, as she finished with 19 points, all coming inside. Speardon's touch with her left hand has shown significant improvement. Defensively, she's a force, moving fluidly on the perimeter to guard opposing guards as zones shift. Her impressive mobility up and down the court, consistently performing well from rim to rim, cements her as an outstanding MM/LM Division 1 prospect. The way she attacks the glass, as if her life depends on it is what next-level schools look for and can't wait to harness that energy. She proved clutch from beyond the arc, hitting four three-pointers and finishing with 14 points. Her shooting ability, particularly late in the game, allowed her to draw her defender, which in turn opened up opportunities for her teammates on the court.
