Every good team has a leading scorer, but every great team has a glue girl. In this ultra-competitive conference, depth and role acceptance separates contenders from pretenders, especially as we near playoffs. This selected group may not average a ton of points, but when they're off the floor, things are likely to go off track.

[player_tooltip player_id='601519' first='Annabel' last='Koss-DeFrank'] | Glen Ridge

Her strong defensive impact and all-court game holds Glen Ridge together when they're down or in trouble. Her versatility fills up the stat sheet, averaging 9.4 PPG, 6.0 RPG, 2.0 APG & 2.9 SPG. She doesn't stay hyper-focused on only one aspect of the game, but instead uses her size & speed combo to really do it all and do it well! These well-rounded contributions have kept the Ridgers competitive in the SEC American.

[player_tooltip player_id='1752322' first='Izzy' last='DeLorenzo'] | Mount St. Dominic

Izzy's improvement on defense and willingness to play important minutes has played a central role in MSD's fourteen wins this season. Important stops in tight games vs Pequannock and Union Catholic helped the Lions pull out narrow wins. The sophomore has shown good anticipation and consistency defensively.

[player_tooltip player_id='1260413' first='Charlie' last='Berger'] | Millburn

Charlie might only be a freshman... and just the fourth scoring option on the team... but she's kept Millburn together all season long with a well-rounded effort. Her court vision and team-leading 2.4 APG gets her teammates involved and creates scoring opportunities. She's coachable and consistent in her playing style.

[player_tooltip player_id='1629924' first='Asiya' last='Whitehead'] | Weequahic

Blocking shots and setting tough screens, she has great defensive timing and imposes her physicality. Her reliability on defense holds it together for Weequahic when things aren't always clicking offensively. She holds it down on the glass as well, pulling down 8.7 RPG in addition to 3.7 BPG & 1.3 SPG. Though a sizeable forward at 6'1", she's not afraid to guard out of position, either.

[player_tooltip player_id='1752313' first='Yazmyn' last='Scruggs'] | Newark Tech

If it weren't for Yaz's hard-nosed, lockdown defense, Newark Tech certainly wouldn't be sitting at 2nd place in the SEC Independence! Scrappy and fearless, she's not afraid to guard the opposing star, dive on the floor for loose balls or take a charge. She's a total leader for the Terriers who has kept everything from unraveling this season. She accepts the leadership role without complaint and makes everyone around her better.

[player_tooltip player_id='1752380' first='Danica' last='Cruz'] | West Side

The senior will do whatever it takes to help her team win! From things that show up in the box score to the intangibles, you just can't ever count her out! She sets screens, boxes out, drives for loose balls, takes charges, makes the extra pass, defends and sets the tone with her full-court effort. Averages of 5.1 PPG, 7.3 RPG & 1.2 SPG have helped the Lady Rough Riders to a 9-0 showing in the SEC National.
