Hoosier Hoopers Who Were Built Different This Season

Lewis averaged 13.8 PPG and 5 RPG this season compared to 10.8 and 3.4 respectively last season. Lewis' determination coupled with her speed in getting to the rim is hard to stop once she's set in motion. She runs the offense with confidence. When she sees the open lane to the basket, she makes a strong and definitive drive to the bucket. The lefty also has a nice stroke from long-range. Lewis has shown growth in how she handles pressure outside the arc and her dribble penetration. The sophomore is a force under the basket. Her growth this season is sharply seen in one important statistic. She more than doubled her rebounding average from last season, increasing from 5 rebounds a game to 11. Her eye for the ball off the rim is a major contributing factor. She reads the bounce with precision while quickly advancing the pass for a fast break. She works for solid block-outs to clear her area and stretches her wingspan so the ball is almost always within reach. Offensively, at 9 PPG, she's just a hair shy from averaging a double-double. White has a nice pound dribble and pivot to the rim. With her footwork and imposing size, she is hard to stop in the post. I've also been impressed by her level of hustle for a big as she consistently chases down 50-50 balls. She's also not afraid to drive from the high post, making her a dynamic center. The senior left it all on the floor this season for the Lady Cubs, becoming one of the very best to ever come through the program. She earned the title of Madison's all-time steals leader with 374 steals. This comes after joining the 1,000 point club last season. Davis is a relentless defender with high IQ on and off the ball. Her impact isn't just felt on the defensive end, Davis is a basket beast. She averaged 23.8 PPG, an increase from just over 18 her junior season. She has a nice catch and shoot and can also pull the trigger off the dribble from behind the arc. She's an ideal point guard, playing with great pace, knowing when to play quick and when to slow down. I also enjoy watching how selfless she is, creating for others with excellent court vision. Juliana ended her season being selected to the HBCA Senior All-District Team. Saier proved she was an active and disruptive defender. The senior proved to be a proficient slasher through the paint. She consistently played in the high and low post, showing her dynamic ability to catch and take the jumper just below the nail or get to the rim. She was the Lady Eagles' scoring leader at 8 PPG, with a sharp increase in her time on the court this season. Saier has shown up big in critical moments giving her team the boost they needed to outlast opponents. Simler brought a fiery spirit and competitive attitude. She averaged 6 PPG compared to 1 PPG last season. . She showcased a nice drive and dish, solid basket cuts and a smooth jumper. Simler consistently hit the 3 ball, topping out in a few games this season with four made 3s.  On the other end, she showed up as a solid defender with determined on-ball presence.
