Intermountain Conference: Summit Splits Wins with Crook County

The No. 10 Summit Storm <a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/2026/01/intermountain-conference-crook-county-upsets-summit-55-47/">traded upsets</a> with the No. 8 Crook County Cowgirls after a 60-51 road win on Tuesday night. Both teams and Bend are vying for second place in the IMC. The Cowgirls cut a 13-point halftime deficit to 1 point late in the third quarter and hung on down by 6 midway through the fourth, but the Storm didn't let up.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1229215' first='Jade' last='Durfee'] led Summit in scoring with 15 points and 4 steals. The point guard nailed a corner three to establish an early lead. Durfee consistently blew by her defender to get downhill. She was creative in the lane and finished athletic takes around the help defender at the rim. The freshman scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. She attacked the rim nonstop and earned several trips to the free-throw line.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>With 90 seconds left in the third quarter, Sloper inched Crook County within 1 point (38-37) after knocking down two free throws, but the Cowgirls never reached Summit.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Storm responded with a quick 5 points to end the frame ahead by 6 (43-37), and extended their fourth-quarter lead to as many as 10.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>With the win, Summit (12-8, 4-4) currently ranks fourth in the IMC table and, with four league games remaining, is well positioned to earn an automatic bid to the playoffs.
