Kamiakin vs Richland

What Stood Out

This game was decided early. Kamiakin jumped out to a 25-10 first quarter lead and never truly let Richland settle in. The Braves dictated tempo from the opening possession and played downhill on offense. Richland struggled to find rhythm from the perimeter and spent most of the night trying to chip away at a deficit that hovered around double digits. To Richland's credit, they responded in the third quarter. A 20-point period cut the margin and briefly gave the game some tension. But every time momentum began to shift, Kamiakin answered with physical drives, free throws, and offensive rebounds. Free throw production was a major separator. Kamiakin finished 21 for 28 from the line and consistently turned contact into points. In a district setting where possessions tighten, that kind of efficiency matters.

Who Stood Out

Castaneda-Munoz finished with 20 points and controlled the tone early. She attacked gaps in the defense, finished through contact, and went 7 for 7 from the free throw line. When Richland tried to speed the game up, she remained composed and played under control.

Kiel was dominant on the glass with 12 rebounds and added 6 points. Her size and positioning created extra possessions for the Braves and limited second chances for Richland. She did not need a high scoring total to impact the outcome.

Schumacher contributed 11 points and battled on both ends.
