Geneva vs Boylan Catholic - On both sides, there are players that can impact the game besides scoring, and this is one of those matchups that I believe will be a low-scoring game, but that's simply because the matchups are more even than not. The young talent in Geneva might be able to move the needle, and Boylan Catholic is a team that can wina game off pure defensive stops. My Pick: Boylan Catholic

Vernon Hills vs. Grayslake Central - Vernon Hills has had a strong season up to this point, and from a scoring standpoint, they've been hovering around 55 points per game. To beat a team like Grayslake Central, I think that number has to climb. Grayslake Central does have a standout that presents a real mismatch, but if Vernon Hills can slow her down and be efficient on most of their possessions, they'll give themselves a real shot. That said, the Hoffman and Thomas duo could ultimately be the deciding factor in a Grayslake Central win. My Pick: Grayslake Central

Glenwood vs. Carbondale - Glenwood has made deep playoff runs before, and with the way they've played this season, it would not be a surprise to see it happen again. With three players averaging around 10 points per game or more, they are not easy to key in on defensively, and that kind of balance is tough to slow down. Carbondale has won a bulk of its games by attacking the paint. Converting on those drives has to be the priority. Whether it is finishing at the rim or kicking out and making the defense pay, they have to turn those paint touches into points. My Pick: Glenwood

Thronton Fractional North vs Providence - TFN has one of the best scoring guards in the state, and her ability to get a bucket when she wants, paired with role players who rebound, defend, and do the dirty work, makes them tough to deal with on both ends. Providence has one of the top players in the state as well, and they bring production from the starters through the bench. They have multiple pieces that can swing momentum and move the needle in a win. My Pick: Providence Catholic
