One of the top district championship games in the state on Friday night was the a showdown between No. 1 seed Delta and No. 2 seed Bunker for the the Class 1, District 1 championship.

It was an outstanding game with a lot of momentum shifts. Bunker held a 10-point lead in the third quarter, but Delta mounted a furious comeback to get right back into the lane. The game came down to the final seconds with Delta coming away with a 47-46 victory.

The Bobcats advanced to Monday night's sectional round where they will take on defending state champion Chadwick.

Here is a look at the Top Five Stars from the Bunker-Delta championship game.

No. 1 STAR: Lily McDonough (Delta)

The 5'3" 2029 point guard was the smallest player on the floor but she had the biggest impact with a game-high 19 points. She is a fearless player who had the quickness to get into the lane and the craftiness to finish amongst the taller players in traffic. She hit a 3-pointer and she was feeding teammates for open buckets. She got the biggest basket of the game when she scored in the lane with 30 seconds left to break a 43-43 tie, which gave Delta the lead to stay.

NO. 2 STAR: [player_tooltip player_id='581056' first='Kinsey' last='Barton'] (Bunker)

The 5'10" 2026 guard closed out a brilliant four-year career by scoring a game-high 19 points. She really took the game over for her team in the half as she repeatedly got into the lane to get big baskets. If she wasn't scoring on her attacks in the lane, she was dropping dimes to teammates for easy layups. She concluded her career as the best player in the history of the program.

NO. 3 STAR: [player_tooltip player_id='1690629' first='Keira' last='Turnbough'] (Bunker)

The 6'0 2029 post player finished with 13 points as she finished inside at a high level. She kept things very simple with good fundamentals. She caught the ball strong with two hands and kept it high to finish. Her positioning in the post was excellent.

NO. 4 STAR:

Cheyenne Welker (Delta): The 2027 guard scored nine points and really sparked Delta's rally from a 10 point deficit in the third quarter. When the Bobcats were struggling from the perimeter against Bunker's zone defense, she caught fire with three 3-pointers in the quarter. It gave the Bobcats a real boost of confidence.

NO. 5 STAR(S): Raelin Nanney (Delta)

The 2027 guard scored eight points while playing an excellent floor game. She was a steady ball handler who was effective at hitting the pull up jumper.

[player_tooltip player_id='1307962' first='Kara' last='Barton'] (Bunker)

The 5'11 2028 forward scored 19 points and was a big factor in the Eagles building a 10 point halftime lead. She scored inside and she also hit a nice floater in the lane. She is a capable ball handler and a very good passer in the high low set.
