Regionals are over, we are down to the final 16 teams in each division, and by Saturday we will know who is Green Bay bound. Today I will highlight who I see as key difference makers, in Division 2, that could help their teams pull an upset on Thursday.

[player_tooltip player_id='842266' first='Alexa' last='Rattray']-West De Pere

Rattray, a 5-8 senior and 2nd team all-conference player, is a key for the Phantoms as they square off with Xavier on Thursday. The last time these two teams met, on December 22nd, Rattray was held to 4 points in 34 minutes as the Hawks pulled out a close 48-44 victory. For the season, Rattray is averaging 8.3 ppg but stepped up, in the Regional, averaging 10 per game in wins over Menasha and Fox Valley Lutheran. She will need to find that next gear to give the Phantoms a shot to upset the #1 seeded Hawks.

[player_tooltip player_id='1319432' first='Chelinda' last='Spector']-Pius XI Catholic

Spector, a 5-8 junior, has had a bit of a mixed bag through the first two games. She put up 16 in an 89-52 win over Nicolet but was held to 8 in the 46-45 Regional final win over Wisconsin Lutheran. The Popes regular season leading scorer will need to find her scoring groove quickly as they come face-to-face with 22-4, #1 seeded Whitefish Bay on Thursday.

Olivia Hoedel-Greenfield

There is a saying that great free-throw shooting wins championships and that was never more evident then in the play of the 5-8 Hoedel. Scoring 15 points, including 11 for 13 from the free-throw line, she was instrumental in helping the Hustlin' Hawks clinch the Regional title over Milwaukee Bay View. For the Regional she averaged 13 points, shot 14/18 (77.8%) from the free-throw line, and will be key if Greenfield is able to upset #1 Whitnall a team that they have lost to twice this season by an average of 14 points per game in which Hoedel was held to 11 points total.

[player_tooltip player_id='1227459' first='Savanna' last='Miller']-Port Washington

The #4 Pirates have a tall task ahead of them as they meet up Thursday, with Beaver Dam, a team fresh off of a 21 point upset over Grafton. Miller, a 5-10 senior, who is also her team's leading scorer, struggled a bit in the first round averaging 12 points while shooting 24% from the field. Miller getting back on track will be key if Port Washington has any chance to pull off an upset over the 20-6 Golden Beavers who are playing their best basketball, of the season, having won 5 of their last 6.
