Regionals are over, we are down to the final 16 teams in each division, and by Saturday we will know who is Green Bay bound. Today I will highlight who I see as key difference makers, in Division 3, that could help their teams pull an upset tomorrow night.

[player_tooltip player_id='1265496' first='Sophie' last='Hook']-St. Croix Central

On paper #1 seeded St. Croix Central (21-4) is the favorite, however, they are facing a team, in Baldwin-Woodville (20-6), that they have lost to twice this season 58-52 on December 16th and 44-42 on February 3rd. Of the two games, the 2/3 matchup was the only one that 5-5 senior [player_tooltip player_id='1265496' first='Sophie' last='Hook'] played in scoring 12 points. For the Panthers to get over the hump, and beat their Middle Border rivals, I see Hook, the team's leading scorer, playing a huge role. If she is able to have a game like she did, in the Regional against Elk Mound, in which she scored 19, then the Panthers should advance to the Sectional Final.

[player_tooltip player_id='764914' first='Finley' last='Morgan']-Laconia

The 19-7 Spartans have perhaps the tallest task ahead of them, in this year's tournament, as they face off with 26-0 reigning champion Oostburg tomorrow night. For Laconia to hand the Flying Dutchmen just their 9th loss in the last four seasons will take a career game from junior [player_tooltip player_id='764914' first='Finley' last='Morgan'] (5-9). Averaging just under 21 points per game, the 1,000 point scorer will need to catch fire early, from deep, stay hot, and hope her supporting cast does the same.

[player_tooltip player_id='887332' first='Emma' last='Schuh']-Brillion

The Winneconne Wolves, 20-6 on the season, come into this Sectional game as the #2 seed largely in part to 6-1 [player_tooltip player_id='1162234' first='Harper' last='Neace']. Shutting her down will be key for a Brillion victory and the player asked to do that is the 6-0 junior [player_tooltip player_id='887332' first='Emma' last='Schuh']. Schuh has been solid, all season, averaging 10.1 ppg, 8.4 rpg, 2.4 apg, 2.2 spg, and 1.1 blocks while clogging up the middle defensively. If she is able to rebound, from her Regional performance, I can see the Lions pulling this one out tomorrow night.

Paetyn Jirschele-Mosinee

If Laconia has the tallest task ahead of them, then Mosinee is a close second as they face off with another undefeated in the 26-0 Chargers from Wittenberg-Birnamwood. What they Indians do have going for them is they did see them, on opening night, a 63-44 loss at home. One key, to this game, for Mosinee, is getting their leading scorer Paetyn Jirschele (5-6) going early. For the season she averaged 16 a game and will need to probably double that to keep the Indians in it.
