Prep Girls Hoops hosted their Southeast Kickoff event this weekend in Hickory, North Carolina with players from George, South Carolina, and North Carolina coming together to kick off their travel seasons. There were many standouts from the event. I've already talked about some of the top performers playing up, so let's focus on some of the 2027s playing in their division. Here are some of the stand out ball handlers you should know.

[player_tooltip player_id='899207' first='Jessica' last='Bailey'] was the primary ball handler for her team bringing the ball up handling pressure. She did well setting up plays and making the right cuts to get to the basket scoring her own points, and she knew when to take it all the way or use a ball fake to get some space. She runs the floor well even when she isn't handling the ball being ready for the pass on a fast break. She showed her range knocking down her shot from deep.

[player_tooltip player_id='1814860' first='Carrington' last='Clifton'] was all over the court attacking the basket and grabbing steals on defense. She knew how to create her own open lane to the rim for two. She was tough on defense, too, being ready to jump in the way of someone trying to attack the basket. Her quickness was definitely an asset on both ends.

[player_tooltip player_id='1814140' first='Izabella' last='Hernandez'] was getting to the free throw line with her tough takes to the basket drawing fouls. She came out of nowhere grabbing rebounds even offensive boards to extend the possession for her team. She was getting her hands in the way on defense stripping the ball from her opponents.

[player_tooltip player_id='1814399' first='Alissa' last='Brown'] does well moving the ball up the court quickly. In transition, she knows when to attack the basket herself or make the dish to her teammates making sure to hit them with the pass right where they need it. She had a nice take to the basket using her shot fakes to get the open lane. She had a nice steal and fast break scoring two off the turnover, and this was something she continued to do for her team.

[player_tooltip player_id='743571' first='Regan' last='Trlica'] was jumping in front of passing lanes grabbing the steal and taking it the other direction. She was tough on the boards using offensive rebounds to put up her shots. She sees the floor well hitting her teammates in stride as they cut to the basket. She was consistently seeing the floor well finding her open teammates making cuts or finding the open lane herself knocking down her own shot.
