Before the AAU season starts for me this weekend, I wanted to highlight a few players to know, before we begin this four-month run of grassroots basketball. There are plenty of players who will make their mark in some way, shape, or form over the next few months. However, I'd like to put some names out there for college coaches to have on their radar, and hopefully see play at some point this coming spring and summer. Again, there will be plenty more players we highlight over the course of the next few months, but here are a few names to know before coaches start heading out and seeing players in a different setting.

[player_tooltip player_id='1099058' first='Ava' last='Dotson']

The Grafton native took a significant step forward in her junior season and became one of the most impressive guards in D2 around Wisconsin this past season. Dotson was a player who made plays with the ball in her hands and used her speed to beat defenders off the dribble whenever she wanted. However, her defensive talent showed well this season, and as she continues to play against high-level guards and wings, she'll find more success.

[player_tooltip player_id='751236' first='Alexis' last='Shelsta']

The Hartford guard ended the season on a tear and was a significant reason the Orioles found themselves in a Sectional Final this season. Shelsta is a player who can score in bunches, create her own shot off the dribble, and has proven her ability to handle the ball against pressure. I liked her more as the season went on and may be playing her best basketball as she heads into her final AAU season.

[player_tooltip player_id='914989' first='Claudia' last='Jenny']

Nobody has the level of intangibles that [player_tooltip player_id='914989' first='Claudia' last='Jenny'] brings to the backcourt. Jenny organizes her team's offense as anyone and has been a key contributor for an Edgerton team that has been a second weekend team every year Jenny has been there. She gets the most out of her teammates and has slowly become a more dynamic player in her own right.

[player_tooltip player_id='764914' first='Finley' last='Morgan']

The Laconia guard was the focal point of what the Spartans did for the first time in her career, and was better than I expected. Morgan was still an efficent offensive player who found ways to score from all three levels and create for her teammates. I was impressed with her ability to handle pressure as well as she did while being a creator and aggressive scorer for her team. She balanced that well.
