Southern Section: 2029 Stock Risers

This section is filled with nationally-ranked players, nationally-ranked teams, and top-tier coaching. What stood out this year in comparison to others was the depth and productivity in the freshman class. The ladies below stepped up to the plate all season long. This allows her to defend multiple positions. She plays with a chip on her shoulder. High-motor athlete who is an exceptional cutter without the basketball. Capable shooter with a quick release. <strong>Jayden</strong> goes on stretches when she is flat-out dominant on the boards. Her hard-nose aggressive play style sets the tone. Willing passer with an emerging all-around game. Over 30 points per game... as a freshman! <strong>Kyla</strong> put up unreal numbers, leading Bishop Alemany to a 19-9 record following a 14-13 record just a year ago. Her unorthodox style and balanced attack is a very dangerous combo. Elite feel for the game along with legit 3-level scoring ability. <strong>Kyla</strong> is already routinely finishing with either hand. She is already nailing shots from the volleyball line. She can drive AND shoot at a high level. Three 40pt games on the year! She can make shots from all over the floor. <strong>Kyla</strong> was the San Dimas Kick-Off Tournament MVP. She only missed 2 shots the entire game! <strong>Chloe</strong> can go coast-to-coast with the size and ball handling ability to make tough finishes around the basket. Her quick 2nd jump creates 2nd chance opportunities on the glass. She can knock down the open 3 and has a quick 1st step off-the-dribble. Exceptional footwork to go along with a basketball IQ well beyond her years. <strong>Chloe</strong> understands how to play with other great players around her. She is also a blur in transition. As one of the go-to scorers and playmakers for 28-5 Valencia, <strong>Sophia</strong> proved she was ready for the challenge despite her youth. She can score, facilitate for others, and force turnovers on the other end. Her impact on and off-the-ball is game-changing. Multiple games with 5+ assists, multiple games with 5+ steals. Shifty confident guard who plays hard on both ends. <strong>Alanah</strong> is a trustworthy floor general who is capable of creating for herself and others. She is crafty in the lane and continues to show flashes of a prolific offensive arsenal. Defensively, she can pick your pocket and go the other way. Offensively, the dribble pull-up looks good every time it leaves her hands. <strong>Alanah</strong> is always a step ahead of her opponent mentally and physically given her quick 1st step.
