Big Time Impact Players At ZG's Chase For The Chain

Zero Gravity's Chase For The Chain tournament hosted a ton of talented players over the weekend. Here are some of the players who provided impactful performances on the tri-state side of the bracket.    Caitlin was a true floor general throughout the weekend for Northeast Elite. She did a great job of seeing the floor well and making the right plays on offense. Her ability to handle pressure and play in control at a high level definitely stood out. Dempsey also showed off quality perimeter shooting, knocking down multiple jumpers from beyond the arc. Lastly, her defensive intensity was exceptional. She applied elite ball pressure and competed extremely hard.     Junkovic might only be a sophomore, but she has legitimate size, standing at 6'1. She was a defensive engine on the floor. Julia distinguished herself as a rim protector throughout the tournament. She not only blocked shots but also deterred players' shot selection at the rim. Junkovic also rebounded well both on the offensive and defensive glass. Offensively, Julia flashed a soft touch around the rim while also finishing through contact. In addition, Junkovic displayed a nice mid-range jumper as well. Her overall IQ and communication on the court were in full view, making her one of the more intriguing players on the girls' side of the bracket.     Olivia Sliwa was yet another standout from the Northeast Elite 10th-grade club this weekend. She was able to apply pressure on the boards using her size at 5'11. Her motor was definitely something that stood out while she was on the floor as well. As for the offensive side of the ball, Sliwa demonstrated a great feel for the game with her ability to play within the flow of the offense. Olivia can shoot the basketball effectively, especially off the catch. She also ran the floor frequently, putting herself in transition opportunities for easy points at the rim.     El Hindi was one of the best shooters in the gym over the weekend at Chase For The Chain. Her mechanics and high arching release are a sight to see, in addition to her deep range. Yasmeen can play two roles as both a primary ball handler and an off-ball threat. She's in constant motion off the ball, making sure she's in the right spots on the floor. El Hindi is aggressive as a scorer, but she made some really good reads as a playmaker. Yasmeen keeps her head up as a ball handler in transition, seeking the best shot available for her team.     Boscarino had an excellent showing during the tournament. Offensively, she was assertive in getting to the rim and finishing through the defense. Not to mention her ability to shoot the ball and take good shots from beyond the arc was impressive to watch. On the defensive side of the ball was where she thrived over the weekend. Alicia was all over the court, getting in the passing lanes and being a pest for opposing offenses throughout the day. Boscarino put on an imposing two-way clinic and was definitely a high-impact player who stood out during the weekend.     Kern put on some noteworthy shooting performances for the Panthers. She shot the ball efficiently, obtaining most of her shots playing off the catch as an off-ball spacer. Kern made her presence felt on the perimeter as she took a high volume of smart shots. Grace has quality shot mechanics, getting a ton of lift on her jumper. She played her role effectively as a zone breaker offensively. She was also terrific on the defensive end because of the energy and activity she brought to the table as an on-ball defender.
