Foothills Flash Dominate at Slate Valley Easter Tournament

The Foothills Flash Craig team rolled to a pair of wins in the Slate Valley Easter one-day tournament. The team outscored a pair of opponents by a 101-45 margin. The Flash defeated the Hartford Storm 45-20 and the VT Wrath 56-25. The Foothills Flash Craig squad is made up of players from Corinth, Greenwich, and Mayfield. All of the players on the team are rising prospects from their respective teams. Here is the review of some of the top performers from the Foothills Flash Craig team this weekend.    [player_tooltip player_id='1276548' first='Bella' last='Craig'] is a rising sophomore for the Foothills Flash and Corinth High School, and continues to get better every game she plays. Craig is the total package, excelling on both ends of the floor. Craig is a relentless defender who puts constant pressure on opposing players. She is a very good shooter both in the midrange and from beyond the arc. Craig has a lightning-quick first step, which allows her to attack the basket with authority. She is a consistent finisher and knows how to create contact and get herself to the foul line. Craig runs the floor well and scores in transition with ease.      [player_tooltip player_id='1702434' first='Alexis' last='Craig'], the youngest of the Craig 1-2 punch, is an 8th grader who plays at a level beyond her years. Like her sister, Bella, she is a ballhawking defender. Her on-ball pressure often causes the player she is guarding to turn the ball over. Alexis is fearless, driving to the hoop, and is a solid finisher. Alexis has a nice shooting touch at all three levels. She is still growing, but already has the size to post up and score down low. Alexis is a strong rebounder and can guard taller players in the post. She is a relentless rebounder who pulls down double-digit boards in every game she plays in. Shanahan is especially strong on the offensive glass, giving her team extra possessions and scoring on put-backs. She is a good shooter around the lane area. Shanahan is a solid post defender and plays with tremendous effort at all times.     Ella Celani was a key player off the bench for the Greenwich team that advanced all the way to the Class C state championship game. With the Foothills Flash, Celani is preparing herself for a larger role after all five starters graduated from the Witches. Celani is a solid defender who doesn't shy away from physical play. She has a very soft shooting touch and can knock it down from long range. Celani moved well without the ball, which creates scoring chances. Celani rebounds well for her size because she is well schooled in the art of boxing out. She is a very fundamentally sound player.     Lylah Dishon is a young player, but has already established herself as a dangerous scoring threat. Dishon has the potential to be a prolific scorer in future years. She is already a lethal shooter who can connect from every spot on the floor. Dishon is a good ball handler who often runs the point for her team. She runs the floor well and can finish at the end of the break. Dishon is a quick-footed defender who creates numerous steals.
