Another season of AAU hoops is upon us, and at the forefront of Jersey clubs is the highly successful Gemz program. This 17U squad is stacked from top to bottom, with players from both the 2027 and 2028 class.

Back Court

[player_tooltip player_id='981918' first='Hailey' last='Benbow'] (2028)

The 6'0" guard is highly skilled with a lethal pull-up mid-range jumper. She does a great job maneuvering around the defense and has tremendous patience setting up and executing the play at hand. Her length is an important factor on defense, allowing her to disrupt the passing lanes and block shots at an impressive clip for a guard.

[player_tooltip player_id='981908' first='Meso' last='Nwobu'] (2028)

Equipped with a well-rounded game, Meso works quietly to rack up several points, rebounds, assists and steals. Before you know it, she's stuffing the stat sheet and helping her team pull out big wins. Her 3-point shooting can be devastating and her court vision is one of the most underrated (but dangerous) parts of her game.

Cidney Stanfield (2028)

One of the most complete guards on the East Coast, this 5'10" combo knows how to compete at an elite level and deliver results. Electric in the open court, she makes the defense to offense conversion look easy. She's crafty with her dribble, works the defender and creates space for quality shots. Cid has a punishing baseline drive and a nasty step-back.

[player_tooltip player_id='862966' first='Grace' last='Darling'] (2028)

One of the most devastating 3-point shooters in New Jersey, Grace goes on a heater at times that no one can contain! At 6'0", her length is advantageous in getting her shot up over smaller guards and neutralizing whatever defensive efforts they're putting forth around the perimeter. She's also a strong inside-out defender, racking up blocks and steals both at the perimeter and around the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='1047167' first='Jordyn' last='Patrick'] (2028)

The 5'10" guard brings a lot of fire and intensity to the court. She is very skilled at finishing through contact and making tough angles look easy. She thrives in pick-and-roll action and has an underrated catch-and-shoot game, especially from distance.

[player_tooltip player_id='835906' first='El-Anita' last='Joe-Samuel'] (2027)

Arguably the most versatile and physical player in the Garden State, Anita is an absolute bucket! She never backs down from a challenge, and, instead, thrives under pressure. A true 3-level scorer with off-the-charts athleticism, she will be the focus of the scouting report every game.

Front Court

Halle Newsome (2028)

The 5'11" wing is a bonafide sharpshooter. Her 3-point shooting alone is worth the price of admission, with parking lot range drawing audible gasps from the crowd. She excels in transition and puts together some crafty finishes around the basket.

Adrianna Bryant (2027)

Adri is going to do whatever it takes to win. The 5'10" do-it-all forward can be relied on for paint buckets and defensive stops. High intensity basketball makes her dangerous because she never stops. There's simply no quit in her game.

[player_tooltip player_id='914779' first='Ava' last='Bryant'] (2027)

A menacing 6'5" interior presence, Ava is everything you want in a big. She converts post-entry passes at a high clip with strong back-to-the-basket play. She's a fierce shot-blocker who can lock down the lanes and stretch out to swat away shots near the perimeter. Everyone's invited to the block party when Ava takes the court!

[player_tooltip player_id='677603' first='Arielle' last='Edwards'] (2027)

Ari's agility is impressive considering her 6'3" stature. She glides around like a guard, always ready to make a move and prides herself on defense, delivering some nasty chase-down blocks. She scores it efficiently and is an emerging stretch 4 threat, with the improved ability to knock down 3's consistently. Tough and physical, she battles relentlessly and never backs down from the assignment.
