Other 2028s to Know Heading Into the AAU Season

Today, we're looking at some players to learn about before this spring and summer, following their sophomore high school season. Now, let's look at some 2028s to learn about as we inch closer to the first live period of the AAU season coming up in a few weeks.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='917718' first='Vonna' last='Shill']</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Pius guard came off the bench this season, but made an impact in every game I watched her play. Shill is an athletic player who is willing to put her body on the line to help earn her team extra possessions to help her team compete in games. She's one of the best pure athletes in her class, and you can tell by how high she jumps to rebound on the defensive end of the floor, and if guards don't box her out, she can rebound on the offensive end.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='992505' first='Libby' last='Bartz']</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Hudson wing/forward is an intriguing talent who has the versatility to make plays on the perimeter or as an interior scorer. Bartz is a solid athlete who can switch on ball screens and give her coaches multiple options defensively. She also has the size to play through contact around the basket and give defenses headaches figuring out how to defend her. She isn't a flashy player by any means, but she can make her teammates' lives easier.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1752563' first='Tia' last='Anderson']</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Deerfield guard had an excellent sophomore season, playing a role she may not have expected to play heading into the season. Anderson is a steady lead guard who takes care of the ball and gets her team into their offense. She is a player who coaches can trust to run the offense they want, and not worry about her turning the ball over. She brings a scoring threat as a perimeter shooter and can get downhill, but her reliability with the ball in her hands makes her an intriguing lead guard.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='855854' first='Morgan' last='Martinez']</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Wisconsin Lutheran wing/forward is a high-motor player who can help generate extra possessions on both ends of the floor. She is an aggressive rebounder who can record double-digit rebounds when she can focus on crashing the glass. I also like that she is comfortable with not having sets run for her and still finding ways to help her team win on the margins. Most kids her age aren't comfortable with that role, but players like Martinez help you win close games.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
