There is NOTHING like cutting down the nets on championship night. Rivalries hit different, gyms are rocking, and every possession feels like it could swing everything. The 55th District Tournament delivered exactly that kind of energy. Physical play, clutch moments, and players rising to the occasion. This was Kentucky basketball at its finest. Every team came ready to fight, but one squad made it clear they still run the district.

Hosted by Breathitt Count, the first round Wolfe County wasted no time bringing the intensity. Wolfe County came out with purpose in the semifinals and handled business against Jackson City 48-28. The Lady Wolves set the tone defensively, flying around, contesting everything, and completely dictating the pace from start to finish.

That win punched their ticket to a championship matchup with Breathitt County, but when the lights were brightest, the Lady Cats showed exactly why they are the standard. Breathitt County took control early and never let up, rolling to a dominant 59-30 victory and securing their THIRD STRAIGHT district title. A statement win on both ends of the floor.
