Rising Sophmores Who Could Star as Juniors in the Border Region

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 2025-2026 season may be over, but it is never too early to look ahead. Several outstanding players will graduate from the Adirondack League in June, but the cupboard will not be empty. Besides this year's seniors, the sophomores may have been the most talented group. I look for several of them to take the next step as juniors next season, fill the void, and become stars in 2026-2027. Even though Brennan is listed as a forward or center, she has the shooting ability of a guard. She can step out and knock down shots from beyond the arc as well as around the lane area. Brennan can put the ball on the floor to dribble by defenders. Brennan uses her height and length to block shots and protect the basket on defense. She is developing her game with one of the highest-level AAU teams in the area this spring, the [program_tooltip program_id='715628' first='NY' last='Havoc']. Brennan has already put her skills on display at the Great Lakes Kickoff, where she impressed. Craig is becoming a complete player who makes winning plays at both ends of the floor. Craig has a swift first step and is fearless when driving to the basket. She runs the floor well, scoring in transition. Craig is a very good shooter from all around the perimeter, inside the arc, and out. Craig is a lockdown defender who makes life difficult for opponents. Cormie set a school record this season with a 40-point game and was named to multiple all-star teams. Simply put, Cormie is a pure scorer. She can put the rock in the hoop from all three levels. Cormie is an exceptional 3-point shooter with unlimited range. She is highly skilled at attacking the cup off the dribble and can pull up in the short range. Shanahan is a rebounding machine who hauls in double-digit boards in every game. If she becomes more of a focal point of Corinth's offense next winter, she will consistently produce double-doubles. Shanahan scores inside on putbacks and has a soft touch around the basket. Stewart burst onto the Adirondack League circuit by becoming a solid contributor for Hartford. Stewart will need to raise her level of play next year with McKenzie Johnson graduating, and I expect her to do so. Stewart became confident on offense this season. Her signature move is a baseline drive to the hoop. She also has a nice pull-up jumper from the baseline and a strong floater game in the paint. Hatton is an extremely gifted athlete who is primed to make a name for herself next season. Hatton is a very smooth shooter. She is especially productive in the midrange. Hatton loves to drive the lane and is a consistent finisher. She has a very quick first step. Hatton's quick feet and aggressive style of play make her an elite defender. Get ready!
