Space City Slam Standouts: 15u

Day 2 brought another wave of young talent that continues to trend in the right direction. From productive post play and relentless rebounding to guard play that controlled tempo and created offense, several prospects separated themselves with consistency and feel for the game. Whether it was [player_tooltip player_id='1231751' first='Makenzie' last='Johnson'] anchoring the paint and igniting the break, Alex Wilson disrupting everything defensively while scoring, or [player_tooltip player_id='1824950' first='Aaliyah' last='Dubon'] running the show at the point, this group showed why they're names to track moving forward. Below are some of the top performers who stood out with their ability to impact winning in multiple ways. Johnson, a productive post on a loaded squad. Good size, active on the glass, and fully embraces her role. Consistently rebounds in traffic and can grab-and-go to ignite the break herself. Flashed range out to the three and showed the ability to attack from the perimeter in the half court. Smart, poised point guard that controls the game with a strong handle and excellent feel for breaking down defenders. Uses smooth crossovers and change of pace to create separation, consistently putting pressure on the defense. Flores stands out with her vision and precision—delivering pinpoint passes right on time, whether in transition or the half court. She keeps her teammates in rhythm, puts them in scoring positions, and understands how to manage the flow of the game like a true floor general. Truly a joy to watch as she shows true love of the game and plays with a sense of passion and love for the game. Steady floor general that consistently keeps her team organized and playing at the right pace. Does a great job pitching the ball ahead in transition to create easy opportunities and doesn't over-dribble or slow the game down. Poised decision-maker that understands when to facilitate and when to look for her own offense. Picks her spots well, can knock down shots, and shows the ability to get into the paint when needed. Plays with control, communicates, and makes the right reads — the type of guard coaches trust to run the team. Kiersten Gray is a good defender that competes with energy and brings a physical edge on that end. Kiersten Gray takes pride in guarding and isn't afraid to match up with opponents using her strength and will to make opponents uncomfortable. Offensively, Kiersten Gray is a downhill driver that looks to attack the paint with purpose, embracing contact and finishing through it. Kiersten Gray played a key role in leading WWBP Elite to multiple victories, setting the tone with her toughness and consistent impact on both ends. Leila Smith was letting it fly as a lefty sniper with a smooth, confident release. Leila Smith consistently knocked down shots from deep and made defenses pay every time they lost track of her. More than just a shooter, Leila Smith created real gravity on the perimeter — stretching the floor, opening lanes, and shifting the defense with her presence. When Leila Smith gets it going, she can change the pace of a game in a hurry. She was the calming force for her [program_tooltip program_id='712584' first='Just' last='Play Elite'] squad whenever they needed a clutch bucket
