Sunshine State Hoopers That Showed Out on Saturday at 3SSB

The first live period pf the travel ball season kicked off at Legends Event Center, where the adidas 3SSB Circuit hosted Session I inside one of the premier venues in the country. With college coaches packed along the baselines and high-level talent from across the nation competing, the environment once again delivered an energetic feel. From the organization to the overall presentation, adidas 3SSB set the standard, and Saturday's action brought plenty of energy and competition. Among the pool of talent, a number of Florida prospects showed out with strong performances and impactful play. Here are some Sunshine State standouts who made their mark on Day 2:    KK is an athletic lefty with good size and length which gives her a strong physical profile for her position. She is very bouncy and elevates at a high level, which shows up both as a rim protector with big-time blocks and as a finisher who can score with either hand. Around the basket, KK uses that explosiveness to rise up and finish through traffic. She also adds value by being able to step out and knock down shots from any level.     Opalo communicated well with her teammates throughout the weekend by keeping everyone connected on the floor. She displayed impressive touch as a passer, threading a bounce pass through defenders for an and-one and also delivering a well-timed lob in a pick-and-roll situation. Opalo moved well without the ball, highlighted by a smooth give-and-go that led to an easy finish. In transition, she did a nice job pushing the ball ahead to keep the pace flowing. Despite her size, Opalo rebounded effectively and competed on the glass. She also knocked down a corner three and showed great use of fakes, including a tough sequence that led to a step-through and finish at the rim.     Zoe knocked down multiple three-pointers and showed confidence and consistency from the perimeter. She mixed it up offensively by hitting a runner and getting downhill to the rim for buckets as well. Zoe played with strong effort and energy on both ends of the floor, bringing a competitive edge throughout. Defensively, her active hands and quick feet led to stops and turnovers by creating extra opportunities for her CFE team.     Aaliyah knocked down multiple three-pointers in the game I saw with confidence and consistency from beyond the arc. She plays with a strong motor and brings steady energy on both ends of the floor. With the ball in her hands, Aaliyah is shifty and difficult to contain when using her quickness and tight handle to break pressure. Defensively, she stayed active with her hands which generated deflections and turned them into steals to create offense from defense.     Laila is one of the most promising 2030 prospects in the state of Florida and is already playing up a class on the 15U level. She showed confidence in her shot, stepping into attempts without hesitation. Laila's quick first step combined with a strong hesitation move consistently put defenders off balance and highlighted her sharp handles. Her ability to turn the corner and get downhill stands out, especially at her age, as she continues to create scoring opportunities and attack the middle third of the court.     Bri showed a strong pull-up and midrange game, which was a rare and valuable skill set throughout the weekend. She impressed with her ability to create for others when consistently getting around her defender and making plays, including a baseline drive where she dropped a perfect bounce pass for an assist. Bri sees the floor well and makes the right reads which helped her stand out as a well-rounded guard. She also adds another layer offensively with the ability to knock down the three ball with accuracy.     Lia attacked and controlled the glass by consistently making her presence felt as a rebounder. She came up with a strong offensive board and putback under the rim, showing great awareness and positioning. Around the basket, Lia finished through contact with multiple and-one plays which highlighted her toughness. She also showed soft hands and good movement, particularly on a pick-and-roll catch that she smoothly turned into points.
