The rising senior class always has a handful of commitments before their final spring and summer grassroots season, mostly at the Division One level. The 2027 class is no different, with eight kids currently committed to playing basketball somewhere at the next level. However, tonight, we'll look at a handful of players for scholarship programs and small-school programs to watch from America's Dairyland before most programs hit the ground running this AAU season.

[player_tooltip player_id='751280' first='Rihanna' last='Barker']

The Kenosha native is one of my favorite players to watch in the 2027 class because no matter what's going on around her, she controls the controllables well. Barker is a physical kid who plays hard whenever she's on the floor and will make extra-effort plays in close games, blowout wins, or a blowout loss. There are things for her to work on, for sure, but for programs looking to compete at a high level, seeking players with the physical tools and edge to their game should make time to see Barker once this AAU season.

[player_tooltip player_id='877236' first='Asharia' last='Koch']

In her first and second years at Beloit Memorial, Koch played off-ball, defended on the perimeter, and played hard. In her junior season, she was the most talented player on her team by far, and even though, in terms of wins and losses, things didn't go well for the Purple Knights, I felt like I learned a lot by watching Koch on stream. In games where nobody would blame her for taking 30 shots, she still moved the ball and made aggressive passes to get her teammates involved offensively. She's a selfless kid who wants to get the most out of her teammates and compete at the highest level. I gained a new appreciation for what she brings to the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='1275661' first='Jordan' last='Ohman']

The Menomonie native has all the tools to be an intriguing next-level prospect for scholarship-level programs. She's physical, athletic, can attack the basket, knock down shots, defend, create for her teammates, and rebound on both ends of the floor. Ohman put together an excellent season for the Mustangs in the Big Rivers Conference, and could be a player who impresses people more than they expect this summer. She has the physical and athletic tools, along with the skillset that could help her excel in almost any backcourt.

[player_tooltip player_id='764914' first='Finley' last='Morgan']

I'm eager to see Morgan in a new environment where she is finding her footing in her last AAU season with [program_tooltip program_id='712778' first='Purple' last='Aces']. She has always been an excellent shooter who can space the floor, and she showed some comfort operating with the ball in her hands with Laconia this past season. Morgan will play plenty of new teams and players in 3SSB over the next few months, and I'm eager to see how she fares more so than most in her 17U group.
