Best of The Circuit: 5 Elite Performances at ZG Tri-State

There have been plenty of great performances on the Zero Gravity Tri-State circuit in the girls' division so far this spring. Here are five of the best performances we have seen halfway through the spring schedule.    Alyssa Kalikas put on an offensive clinic a few weeks ago and has continued to impress. Her confidence is on full display when you see her on the court. Offensively, her instincts are elite; she has a great handle while maintaining her vision to make reads in both the half-court and transition. Kalikas can fill up the basket as well. Her ability and willingness to shoot the ball from beyond the arc make her a threat at all times for opposing defenses. Alyssa also knows how to use her shooting gravity to get downhill and attack the rim. She's a tremendous offensive talent and is definitely one of the most impressive players we've seen on the circuit so far.     [player_tooltip player_id='1832431' first='Londynn' last='Gilchrest'] showed she can be a high-impact lead guard when we saw her back in mid-April. She is a constant transition threat with her elite ability to see the floor. Gilchrest is always looking to push the pace. In a half-court set, Londynn can get into the paint and make plays for others. She also brings versatility to the table as a scorer. Gilchrest is comfortable on the perimeter as a jump shooter and can finish over length in the paint. Her leadership on the court was great to see. She makes her teammates better in many ways.     Yasmeen El Hindi has proven to be one of the best shooters we have seen throughout the spring. El Hindi's strength as a shooter is at its peak when she's off the ball. She knows how to fill the court space correctly, making herself open for perimeter shots. Yasmeen provides deep range as a jump shooter as well. Her aggressiveness is something that stands out when you watch her on the court. As an on-ball creator, she can generate shots for others really well. Yasmeen's shot quality is definitely a strength in her game. She takes the open shots and limits the unnecessary ones.     Julia Junkovic is one of the best defenders that we have seen play in the tri-state circuit. At 6'1", she possesses above-average size for her class. The rim protection she provides is immensely valuable to her team's success. She not only blocks shots, but also alters opponents' shots at the rim with her length. Julia is also disciplined as a defender, making sure she stays out of foul trouble and stays on the floor. What was most impressive about Junkovic was her high IQ. She was the anchor of the defense and was in consistent communication with her teammates.     Horel is a player you want on your team if you want to win. Her will to win is her best trait on the court. As we have said before about Maddy, she can do it all on defense. Horel can be disruptive in the passing lanes, creating transition opportunities. Her biggest on-court attribute is easily her rebounding; she is all over both sides of the glass. As an offensive player, she's making some strides as a scorer. Maddy has a solid post game, where she can get to her dominant hand and finish at the rim with finesse off the glass.
