Prep Girls Hoops Kentucky was in the building for The Classic in Louisville. Here are some notes from Friday as players got back in their groove and teams continued building chemistry. Day one set the tone for an action-packed weekend with high-level matchups, college coaches lining the sidelines, and plenty of prospects making early statements.

Rhys was firing on all cylinders and did so very efficiently. She stayed aggressive offensively and looked to score. She made a great basket cut for her first bucket against B1CE UAA and later drilled three triples. Rhys averaged 15.5 points per game while shooting 50% from the field and went 7-for-11 from deep, helping Next Level 2029 3SSB finish 1–1 on the day.

Kyleigh showed toughness and a competitive edge throughout. She consistently got downhill, attacking the rim and either finishing through contact or drawing fouls that led to multiple trips to the free-throw line, where she often capitalized. She also filled lanes well in transition and added a nice offensive rebound with a strong putback.

Sophia set the tone for [program_tooltip program_id='715843' first='Kentucky' last='Elite'] against M14 Hoops S40. She scored the first bucket of the game with a nice floater in the lane, snatched down rebounds with authority, ran the floor hard and stood out as an interior defender. Lover her effort on both ends of the floor.

I liked what I saw from Lexie today. She was able to beat defenders off the dribble with her ball-handling skills and quickness. She found gaps in the defense to attack, showing she can turn the corner and get to the rim. Lexie also displayed good lateral quickness on the defensive end, sliding her feet well and keeping the ball in front of her.

LaNayjah has a wiry, athletic frame with a strong basketball build. She likes to push the pace and is very fast with the ball in the open court. She drives with force and finishes well at the rim. She used active hands to come up with a steal and quickly turned it into points the other way. LaNayjah also showed she's capable of scoring from the perimeter. It was my first time seeing her in person, and the upside is definitely there.
