Taking Stock of Available 2027 Prospects

Within the next week or so, I'll have a few articles that are solely based on the senior class, offering advice and giving a sort of testimonial to their recruiting process to give the up-and-coming prospects a perspective from kids who have been through it. If players and families find some of the statements helpful, which I think you will, we can expand that idea. We can help potentially calm some nerves and help younger players understand the ups and downs of the recruitment process. However, before we get to that, we will look at some players to take notes on before grassroots basketball picks up later in June and in July.    The Notre Dame forward is a versatile offensive player who can hurt defenses around the basket or spread the floor and knock down perimeter jumpers. I think she has come along well in her two seasons at Notre Dame and doesn't look out of place in the grassroots season against scholarship-level talent. She has the size and skill to compete against high-level players and can play multiple frontcourt roles.     The Edgewood wing is a competitive player who will help her team win games on the margins. Thompson isn't afraid to put her body on the line to help her team earn an extra possession and does it without thinking twice. The Madison native is a player who can swing a game without scoring a point and is more skilled than you'd initially think. She's a winner.     There are always small-school players who can help a program at the next level, and Glenz fits that mold. Like most small-school players, she has become accustomed to doing a little of everything on both ends of the floor. She will dig in and rebound, create for her teammates, get her shot off the dribble, and organize her team on both ends of the floor. She has the tools to step in and contribute to a small-school program.     The Arrowhead wing has shown she plays a role alongside talented players on a winning team. Petersen is a skilled perimeter shooter who can space the floor anywhere she plays. I also love how confident she has been when open shots have come her way. Even in a role where she'll only get a few looks per game, she will stay ready and compete on the other end of the floor. She will find a way to play a role at the next level.
