The Manitowoc Lincoln transfer had to earn her stripes at Notre Dame. Breese wasn’t a significant part of the rotation early in the season, but injuries changed the Tritons’ season, and when Breese got her chance, she took it. The 6’0 forward earned a pair of double-doubles at the end of the season against Arrowhead, who went to state in D1, and Providence Academy (MN), who won their fourth straight AA State Title in Minnesota. There is something there with Breese, and we may not have seen it fully at this point, but her physicality, ability to attack off the dribble, and floor-spacing capacities are worth taking a look at this summer with her Purple Aces team.

Whenever I watch Notre Dame games, I’m always eager to see what Breese can do off the bench. I always feel like there’s more for her to give. However, she doesn’t have the role to show it. The 6’0 transfer from Manitowoc Lincoln can play inside and out, play on the interior with a healthy Waldrop, and make some of the plays we’re used to seeing from Triton frontcourt players. The tools are all there, and I feel like she’s played well in the minutes I’ve seen her play, but it’s still a bit of a wait-and-see situation with her. Watching her this summer with Purple Aces should be intriguing with the talent they have.

Breese is an outstanding defender with a knack for blocking shots and forcing turnovers, thanks to her impressive wingspan and good anticipation. She’s disciplined with the ball and rarely turns it over. A confident shooter from beyond the arc, Breese can step out and sink three-pointers with ease. She makes sharp cuts and flashes to the ball creating natural scoring opportunities. Additionally, she has great court vision and delivers precise passes near the rim. Her athleticism is evident in her play, and the varsity experience she gained last year has prepared her to take on a more significant role this season. Last year, Breese averaged 4.0 points per game, shot 44% from the field, and recorded a season-high of 17 points. As a sophomore with varsity experience, she has the potential to become not only a key scorer but also a major contributor across multiple areas of the game.

A Notre Dame transfer from Manitowoc Lincoln, Breese could be a kid who gets significant run as a sophomore. The Tritons have played with size the last few seasons, and with Breese at the Scholastic Live Period, the Tritons played her alongside

. It’s way too much for anyone to ask her to be as productive as someone like Gracie Grzesk, but you can see the mold of a similar player. Breese made perimeter shots, used her size to play around the basket, and played well overall in Appleton. Breese could surprise some people around Green Bay.
