518 Superior Showcase Stock Risers

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I recently attended the 518 Superior Showcase at Union College in Schenectady, NY. There were several players there who are already on the radar of many coaches. However, multiple players in attendance were not well-known coming into the weekend, but turned heads at the event. Matessino is a lethal outside shooter. She exhibited unlimited range from beyond the arc, often knocking down shots from far behind the line. Matessino can nail the midrange shot off the dribble. Matessino handles the ball well and attacks the basket aggressively. She is an outstanding finisher off the drive. Matessino moves well without the ball with timely basket cuts. She is also a talented rebounder and defender. Brown is super quick and is an elite ballhandler. Her dribble penetration allows her to break down a defense and get to the hoop. Brown is an excellent passer with superb court vision. Perhaps Brown's most impressive skills are on the defensive side of the ball. She is tenacious on the ball as a defender who wreaks havoc on opponents. Brown runs the floor well and is a strong finisher in transition. Simply put, she does everything well. Yenkavitch is a very good shooter from behind the 3-point arc. She can put the ball on the floor and beat defenders with either hand. She is a solid finisher in transition. Yenkavitch is a strong defender with long arms. She plays even bigger than she is. Yenkavitch rebounds well and scores off putbacks in the paint. Bourdon is an accomplished scorer in the paint, but she is productive at all three levels. Defenders cannot give Bourdon any space, or she will step out and knock down a 3-pointer. She has a smooth shooting touch from everywhere on the floor. Bourdon has excellent post moves in the low post. She is a fluid mover without the ball, creating easy scoring chances for her. Bourdon runs the floor well and finishes in transition. Speshock is a versatile player who can play a variety of positions. She also has the athleticism to defend multiple positions. Speshock has a smooth shooting touch, especially around the painted area. She is a strong finisher inside and is an excellent rebounder. Speshock also handles the ball well and can put the ball on the floor and beat defenders off the dribble. Beam plays with incredible effort. Her motor is always running in high gear. Beam is a relentless defender and rebounder. Her tireless work on the boards gives her putback opportunities and her team extra possessions. Beam runs the floor well and is a strong finisher in transition. Beam is a high-IQ player who understands the game at a young age. As just a freshman, the sky is the limit for Beam. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
