Section 7 Recap Hidden Gems

Had some great hustle plays. Accounted for quite a few steals and showed to be a strong and effective shot blocker. Does the little things at a high level. Very strong. Rebounds the ball very well and isn't afraid to get physical in the post. Montgomery got physical battling for rebounds, diving and securing the loose ball etc. She showed good skill and ability to dribble and drive hitting the open gaps. Defensively Karsen was great to watch. Shut down the baseline lane forcing her opponents to the opposite direction. Accounted for many steals and forced turnovers throughout the weekend. Controlled the paint defensively and didn't allow the opposing offense much success in the post when she was in the game. Came up with some big blocks over the weekend. Luevanos is a strong body in the paint with good size. Wood dominant in the post and showed the skill and speed to guard the perimeter. Plays with a very high motor. Hustles hard. Talented shot blocker. Has a good dribble move she uses at the perimeter to get by and drive the lane. Sparked a comeback in their second game eventually drawing the foul and sinking the free throws to take the lead. She played every possession at a high level and nothing affected that. She crashed the boards with purpose and scored the second chance opportunities consistently. Plays with good physicality and makes the hustle plays. Dives for the loose ball, will rip the ball away from her opponents. Made some great reads showing off her high defensive IQ. She plays with great energy and is a tremendous defender with good speed. Hustles for everything. Strong on ball defender. Made it almost impossible for opposing guards to advance. Moves laterally quickly cutting off any drive attempt. Rebounded the ball very well. Stepped in and had some big blocks in the paint. Leah has a great handle and is very skilled with her dribble. Plays very mature and with confidence for an incoming freshman. Very strong passer and hits the gaps hard scoring at the rim. Can shoot the three as well. Has a good sized frame and could develop into one of the top players at her position in the 2030 Southern Arizona class.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
