Beyond the Box Score: Sparkle City Slam Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In case you haven't picked up on this from all of the previous articles, Prep Girls Hoops hosted their Sparkle City Slam last weekend.  We've had numerous articles about the standouts, and I've got one more to wrap up my coverage of the event.  These are athletes that you should keep your eye on in their high school careers.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- for every loose possession making sure her team has a chance for the ball.  She had a quick shot that was difficult to defend, especially around the arc.  She pushes the tempo the other direction all levels knocking it down from deep and attacking the basket.  Her defense was definitely fun to watch with her ability to grab steals on repeat off the full court press, and these turnovers quickly turned into points for her team.  She did a little bit of everything for her team even grabbing rebounds.  She did a nice job taking control for her team handling the ball, using shot fakes to get to the opening, and putting up some nice mid range jumpers to get her points. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block adjustment at the rim attacking the basket full speed and making the points count in transition.  She makes some nice dishes to her teammates, and she doesn't back down battling inside for rebounds using her body to create some space.  She had some nice range with her shot, too, stepping beyond the arc.  She was sneaky getting her hands in the way on defense grabbing the ball as guards tried to smart cuts to the basket grabbing the ball and putting it up for the shot.  She used her height to block shots and create turnovers pushing the tempo the other direction.  She followed shots grabbing down tough shots.  She hustled up the court getting to the rim in transition.  She found her open teammates up the court getting them involved in the play including making the long pass in transition
