Paint Patrol: Post Who Dominated at Who’s Got Next Tournament

Eighty three teams from across Kentucky and the surrounding states packed the Kentucky Sports Factory, and the post play was nothing short of spectacular. These players proved that dominating the game isn't just about scoring in the paint. They stretched the floor, controlled the glass, protected the rim, and made winning plays on both ends. Whether they were overpowering defenders inside or knocking down shots from the perimeter, these interior stars showed they have the talent to make a major impact this season. She finishes efficiently around the basket with strength and touch, but she is equally comfortable stepping outside and knocking down the three. Her inside out skill set forces defenses into difficult decisions, making her one of the toughest matchup problems in the 2nd Region. Karley plays with confidence, understands how to use her size, and impacts the game in a variety of ways.     Kynsey is a powerful and versatile young post who can make an impact anywhere on the floor. She possesses the strength to battle inside while also showing the ball handling skills to push the break after securing rebounds. Her reliable mid range jumper adds another layer to her offensive game, and she consistently creates quality scoring opportunities. Kynsey controls the glass, plays with toughness, and has the court awareness to turn defensive stops into transition offense. Her complete skill set makes her a difference maker on both ends of the floor.     Isabella continues to impress with her coachability and steady development. She plays with confidence, communicates well with teammates, and never backs down from physical play. Her shooting mechanics are fundamentally sound, and she continues to expand her offensive game while embracing the dirty work that helps teams win. Isabella's work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to compete make her one of the promising young interior players to keep an eye on. She controlled the paint as a relentless rebounder, established deep post position for easy baskets, and finished through contact for multiple and one opportunities. Defensively, she erased shot after shot with authority. One of her blocks was so loud it sounded like it could be heard from the opposite end of the gym and all the way into the parking lot. Her presence around the rim completely changed the game and made opponents think twice before attacking the basket.     Sterling possesses outstanding length and knows how to use it on both ends of the floor. She scores comfortably in the post with polished moves, can step out and knock down catch and shoot jumpers, and consistently creates matchup problems because of her versatility. Defensively, she protects the rim at a high level while controlling the boards. Her combination of size, skill, and mobility gives her tremendous upside.     Calvin was one of the most athletic players in the field and plays much bigger than her height thanks to her exceptional length and explosiveness. She has the versatility to defend every position on the floor, creating steals with her quickness and long reach. Rociya attacks the basket aggressively, rebounds at a high level, and has the ball handling ability to initiate offense when needed. Her athleticism and versatility allow her to impact nearly every possession.     Standing six feet tall, Wainman is a versatile post who creates matchup problems with her unique skill set. She can stretch the defense by consistently knocking down three point shots, opening driving lanes for teammates while forcing opposing posts away from the basket. Kinley also handles the ball well enough to relieve pressure against full court defense and initiate offense. After knocking down multiple threes in two different games, she proved she is much more than a traditional post player.     Collins is a versatile forward who is equally effective with her back to the basket or facing the rim. She rebounds aggressively, finishes well around the goal, and has the shooting range to stretch defenses beyond the three point line. Davis plays with tremendous energy every possession and impacts the game in numerous ways, making her a valuable piece on both ends of the floor.     Wardlow showed outstanding poise throughout the tournament. She never rushed possessions, displayed excellent court vision from the post, and consistently finished through contact around the rim. Her ability to stay composed under pressure while creating opportunities for herself and teammates stood out, and she complemented her offensive game by battling hard on the glass. Daire's patience and toughness make her an interior player with a very bright future.
