Unranked 2027s in the Border Region

The Border Region is full of talented players, and several are in the Prep Girls Hoops Rankings. However, this summer I have seen several players play who are not currently ranked but could be soon. Here is a peek at some Class of 2027 small school prospects I have watched so far this summer who could be next to earn a spot in the rankings.    I have seen [player_tooltip player_id='1879640' first='Chloe' last='Popa'] of Lake George High School play multiple times this summer, and she gets better and better each time. Popa has added elements to her game that I didn't see in the regular season. She has always been an outstanding shooter, especially from 3-point range, but she has improved her ability to create space away from defenders with a lethal jab-step and step-back move. Popa has developed the ability to beat defenders off the dribble, attack the rim, and finish strong. Her stop-and-start move with a change of speeds is extremely effective.     I have watched [player_tooltip player_id='1867012' first='Elizabeth' last='Darling'] play a few times this summer. She was turning the heads of several coaches recently at the Empire Takeover Summer Kickoff. Darling is an elite shooter from beyond the arc. Her range is unlimited, and she is equally good from the wings, corners, or top of the key. Darling is especially good off the catch, but can knock down shots off the dribble as well. Darling has a natural understanding of the game. She handles the ball well and has excellent court vision, making her a good passer. Darling can also rebound and score inside. She plays bigger than her height and works constantly on her game.     [player_tooltip player_id='1814878' first='Rosilee' last='Forrest'] has the size of a post player, but is a multi-dimensional talent who is effective inside and out for Maple Hill High School. She is a versatile scorer who can put the ball in the hoop in a variety of ways. Forrest has excellent footwork in the paint. She can catch on the block and score with either hand. Forrest can drive by defenders off the bounce and is a solid finisher from either side of the rim. She can step out and knock down shots in the mid-range or from behind the arc. Forrest is a very good shot blocker and overall defender. She is also difficult to handle on the boards.     [player_tooltip player_id='1879888' first='Allie' last='Dickinson'] is a player who seems to fly under the radar and deserves much more recognition. Dickinson was an all-state Class A honorable mention selection this season. She is the total package, who has extreme skills at both ends of the floor. Dickinson is a very good shooter from behind the arc. The top of the key is her sweet spot. Dickinson handles the ball well and knows how to navigate the lane and find open teammates. She can score inside off of putbacks and get to the rack off the dribble. Dickinson's length makes her a solid defender and shot blocker. Her numbers climbed this winter, and I expect her stock to rise in 2026-2027.     [player_tooltip player_id='1879899' first='Tanner' last='Eiseman'] had a huge season in helping to carry Mechanicville to a Class B sectional crown. Eiseman is listed as a power forward, but she is extremely versatile. She is a natural scorer who can put the ball in the hoop in a variety of ways. Eiseman is very productive around the rim. However, she also possesses a solid mid-range game with a silky-smooth touch. Eiseman is also skilled at putting the ball on the floor and driving past defenders. Her ball-handling skills are superior for a player of her size and strength. She is a strong rebounder both offensively and defensively, and adds to her point total on putbacks. Eiseman is also a solid defender, especially in the paint area.     [player_tooltip player_id='1862303' first='Andie' last='Luskin'] is the main post player on the Stillwater squad that should be primed for a state tournament run in 2026-2027 for the second time in three years. Luskin is a tremendous natural athlete who also stars on the volleyball court. Luskin is a solid finisher in the paint. She has a soft shooting touch, and her tall, wiry frame makes her difficult to defend. Luskin is skilled in the low post and displays very good footwork. Her length and wingspan make her an excellent defender and basket protector. Luskin is a tireless rebounder who scores a lot of points on putbacks.
