<p>The New Mexico's girls basketball scene is heating up as the Class of 2028 steps closer into its junior year. After strong sophomore seasons in 2025-26, several standouts produced big numbers across every classification — dominant posts, sharp perimeter threats, and versatile wings who scored with both volume and efficiency.</p>

<p>This State Report ranks the top total-point and points-per-game producers in the class. The numbers reflect night-in, night-out consistency through a full high school schedule.</p>

<p>A 5'7” physical, relentless competitor for Cobre, Gutierrez scores with elite efficiency inside. She owns class highs with 63 double-figure games, 26 20-point performances, and three 30-point nights (career high 32).</p>

<p>At 5'4”, Martinez is one of the most reliable multilevel scorers in northern New Mexico. A primary option for Mora, she becomes a scoring machine when locked in and is one of only two players in the class to have already crossed 1,000 career points.</p>

<p>The 5'7” point guard and reigning Gatorade Player of the Year is nationally ranked (No. 74) and holds a wide range of Division I offers. A two-way force with a polished skill set, she has posted 51 double-figure games, seven 20-point outings, and one 31-point explosion.</p>
