2029 Talent Shines at Grand Valley Elite Camp

Grand Valley hosted another outstanding Elite Camp on Tuesday evening, drawing a tremendous turnout as players from across the state came to learn from the back-to-back national champions. The camp was well organized from start to finish, with the coaching staff explaining each drill before Grand Valley's players demonstrated the skills and techniques, giving campers a clear example before putting them into action. The evening also featured competitive 5-on-5 games, with the campers divided into six teams coached by Grand Valley players. The Class of 2029 was well represented throughout the camp, with several young players taking advantage of the opportunity to compete against strong competition and showcase their developing skill sets. Here are a few of the 2029 players who caught my attention and made a strong impression throughout the evening.    Addy, a guard on Team 1, showcased her talent throughout the Grand Valley Elite Camp and consistently found ways to impact the game. She handled the ball well, kept her head up while pushing the pace, and delivered a sharp pass in transition to create a scoring opportunity. Addy was also aggressive attacking the lane, showing she isn't afraid to absorb contact and finish through traffic. Defensively, she competed with energy and used her quickness to pressure opposing guards. Her combination of ball-handling, playmaking, toughness, and defensive effort made her a strong contributor for Team 1.     Taylor, a guard on Team 2, continued to show why she is such a dangerous scorer at the Grand Valley Elite Camp. She has a knack for lighting up the nets every time she steps on the floor, and Tuesday evening was no different as she connected on numerous three-pointers. Taylor also displayed good poise with the ball, using a smooth retreat dribble to create space and navigate through traffic. Her shot-making ability and composure under pressure made her a tough matchup throughout the evening.     Malia, a guard on Team 3, showcased a well-rounded game at the Grand Valley Elite Camp. She displayed confidence with the ball in her hands, using strong ball-handling skills to create space and make plays for her teammates. Malia also showed her shooting range by knocking down a smooth step-back three from the top of the key. On the defensive end, she used active hands to disrupt plays and make things difficult for opposing guards. Her combination of shot-making, playmaking, and defensive activity made for a strong showing.     Audrey, who played for Team 6 at the Grand Valley Elite Camp, showcased her versatility as an inside-out threat. She used her length and athleticism to create problems on both ends of the floor and wasn't afraid to embrace contact when attacking the basket. Defensively, Audrey did a nice job walling up in the post, using her size and positioning to make it difficult for opponents to score inside. Her combination of length, athleticism, and toughness made for a strong showing at the camp.     Vivi, who played for Team 4 at the Grand Valley Elite Camp, helped her team finish undefeated during the 5-on-5 competition. She was active on the glass throughout the evening, consistently battling for rebounds and creating extra possessions with numerous offensive boards. Vivi also displayed good footwork around the basket and ran the floor well as a rim runner, giving her team another scoring option in transition. Her activity and interior presence were important pieces of Team 4's undefeated run.
