Here we have a handful of defensive leaders from the 4A Class returning from last season to make their mark once again in anyway that they can out on the Varsity floor.

If you are looking for some hoopers that EAT on defense, while being really solid overall competitors, this is a group to know!

Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!

Boone High School plays against some of the smaller schools out of their Class but they are still a group that competes within the 4A Class level that others should know about. They have a handful of young, promising prospects and those prospects are getting better with experience. Someone that showed up last season as someone to note for this team was Whitney Chesnut. Chesnut is a 5'4 CG, that likes to shoot the ball from far away if given the opportunity but that's not why we highlight her in this piece. We highlight her because of the Steal numbers she racked up last season. She finished with 93, ranking her in the Top 10 in the 4A Class in total Steals on the season as a whole. She is one of the other players returning within the 4A Class, that was ranked within the Top 10 in Steals last year. That's pretty impressive. I hope this Winter she can build off of that momentum and put together an even better season as a whole. If she plays off of the foundation she set place six months ago, she will be just fine.

Nevaeh Logan has been overshadowed the last few years at the Varsity level with the talent that has surrounded her but this Winter should be different for the top-notch rebounding force. Logan finished last season as #3 in the state in total Rebounds throughout the 4A Class. She recorded 255 in total, leaving her right behind first and second place. This Winter Logan should be her team's main source of production on both ends. She is going to still be in charge of grabbing those important boards but she will also be looked upon to score the rock a little bit more than in recent past. I'm sure she is up for the challenge. Every time we have seen her compete, she leaves it all out on the floor and that's respectable from an outside perspective!

We will need to keep a close eye on Kenzley Bruck of Harlan Community High School over the next eight months. Bruck, the 6'2 Center, is going to be a viable option for some college level programs out there following her high school career. I'm not sure Bruck is committed somewhere already for a different sport but her size would translate well to the next level within the right situation. Last Winter Bruck led the 4A Class in total Blocks with 70 throughout her teams 23 contests. She also averaged 12.5 PPG and 9 RPG at the same time, demonstrating that she is going to consistently show up on either side of the floor whenever she is hooping. This is one of the tallest prospects in the state out of the 2027 Class and you know how it goes, "You can't teach height."

Macie Vetter nearly averaged 1 CPG (Charge Taken Per Game) as a Junior. I can't wait to see how she is going to follow that up. Averaging nearly 1 CPG is a wild stat to have. It means you are willing to sacrifice your body for the love of your squad, it means you know how to time the defense so that you can slide in front of take a charge in all the right moments, and it means that you have to have some mental awareness within the game of Basketball itself. I think all of these things are true for Vetter from what we have seen over the last three seasons. She is on pace to be a college player at the end of her high school career but we are still unsure at what level. I could see her having a lot of success at the NAIA level within the right opportunity but it only takes one coach to believe in you so who knows. We will just have to wait and see.

Here we have a handful of defensive leaders from the 4A Class returning from last season to make their mark once again in anyway that they can out on the Varsity floor.
