is in for a big AAU season ahead with her
Western Iowa Express
17U program as their starting PG/SG. Vetter is a nice prospect. She doesn’t do anything crazy but she still see’s success and that is because of her fundamentals. When she handles, she protects the ball with her off-hand really well. When she shoots, it’s always in rhythm or in motion, where-ever that may be at. When she rebounds, she finds her matchup first, boxes them out, and then goes for the board. All while holding her own on defense. If she does ever get beat, she is very good at recovering into open space with quick feet and active hands. I’m hoping some colleges step in to see Vetter this Spring. She plays good ball. The type of ball that will translate to the next level with hard-work and dedication.

demonstrates poise and leadership when she is competing. Vetter, a 5’7 PG/SG, can be a Swiss-army knife for your team, depending on what you need. She can run the PG spot and run the offense as a creator, she can move to the Wing as a primary scoring threat, or she could even move to the 3 spot to compete as a CG and high-end defender. Vetter has given us some impactful stat-lines over her career but I think the best it still yet to come. She has a smart head on her shoulders and she knows how to play good basketball while surrounded by others with talent. If she can continue to build on the foundation she has set in place up until this point, she should be receiving some love and interest from next level until she commits but we will see.

of Lewis Central was somewhat overshadowed this year on the varsity floor because of their dominant post play but that didn’t stop Vetter from putting together an impressive sophomore season. Vetter, a 5’7 PG, averaged 12 PPG, 4 RPG, an 2 APG while helping her team to an 12-11 record overall. As you can tell, Vetter shows up in each contest. As a coach, she can be your PG that brings the ball down the floor or she can run next to the PG at the SG position. Either way, she always seems to yield positive results in whatever she is tasked with doing. Throughout her two years on the varsity level, Vetter has proven that she possesses a steady scoring ability in both the half court and the full, a willingness to facilitate for others when available, and she makes pretty good choices with the ball in the grand scheme of things – turning it over very rarely. If you have a chance this AAU season, find Vetter and her
Western Iowa Express
on the road. They have a handful of players that bring great energy and who could definitely compete at the next level.

“It’s always important to build on momentum no matter what you are doing and someone that is doing that to a T following AAU season is Macie Vetter of Lewis Cental. Vetter showed a well rounded game throughout the day at this Showcase. In an event that is guard heavy with talent, it can be challenging to standout but Vetter did a fine job of that during all of the skill portion events to start the day and during competitive play down the floor. At Lewis Central, I’m expecting numbers out of Vetter this Winter. She knows what to expect so now, it’s go time.”

is a prospect that makes it happen. No matter what “it” is, she tends to always be in the right place at the right time because of her natural ability to stick on the ball but don’t get it twisted, she doesn’t need to have the ball in her possession to make an impact. She can play off of it and can still impact a game at a high rate, whether that’s on the high school floor or the AAU floor. I’ve seen Vetter compete twice this AAU season and both times she led her
Western Iowa Express
team in a few different ways. She made plays down the stretch and she showed promise every time she took the floor. At Lewis Central this Winter it’s going to be fun to see what she can do for her Sophomore season with that group, who are all pretty well-rounded as a whole.

put together an impressive weekend at the Legacy Classic. Vetter is a prospect out of the 2027 Class but you’d never be able to tell while she was out there competing with her
Western Iowa Express
2026 team. She ended the weekend averaging around 13 PPG on the offensive side of the floor, scoring in a plethora of different ways, while also playing scrappy defense on that side of the ball. There were a handful of prospects who played up and competed this weekend, holding their own at a high rate and Vetter is in that conversation. This isn’t the first time that I’ve had a chance to see Vetter compete but she is definitely getting better, every time I do have a chance to step in and see her perform. If she continues to compete like this, I’m sure she is going to put up some impressive numbers moving into the high school season this Winter. She just needs to stay locked in, which I’m sure she will have no problems with from what I saw this weekend on the hardwood.

compete once this Spring & once this Summer. In each contest Vetter was making good plays at the Point Guard position for her team. There wasn’t many situations when I thought that Vetter was out there over her head this AAU season. In most situations, she was a player that the coaches could trust with the ball in her hands, in the biggest moments of a contest and that says everything you need to know about her game. I think Vetter could make a positive impact at Lewis Central as soon as this season. She will need to come in, limit her turnovers, and create for the others around her at a consistent rate but if she can do that, she should see the varsity floor this winter.

understands the game and loves to play in transition. Her team would rebound and she would run lanes for transition layups. If she rebounded the ball, she’s pushing it down the middle looking ahead for her teammates or going coast to coast for a layup. Macie showed how well she can score on all three levels. If the close out was late on the catch, she would let it fly. If the close out was aggressive, putting the ball on the floor to attack gaps/driving lanes wasn’t an issue. She was one of the few I saw that didn’t force a shot and played her game. Being able to drive left and right while able to finish through contact was fun to watch. When her team needed a bucket, she wasn’t shy creating scoring opportunities.
