Sophomore ID Camp: Team 9 Recap

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">The Sophomore ID Camp is always one of my favorite events because it is strictly about development and seeing what players have added to their game. Watching players come back from year one and show growth in different areas shows us this basketball thing is serious to them. With multiple 5v5 games to evaluate, we also get a good look at who can consistently impact the game through scoring, defense, playmaking, and making the right plays. Below is a quick snapshot of what the players from Team 9 showed us last Sunday.</h3>    Made a ton of winning plays that might not always show up on the stat sheet, but her ability to rebound at a high clip, especially on the o boards. A big contributor to a ton of points for her team.     Tough finisher around the rim, and she knows how to use her length to help create better angles and finish through contact. She does a good job of extending around defenders instead of forcing everything straight through them.     On the defensive end, Michelin found ways to be disruptive; she's patient when she reaches, and rarely comes into contact with the body when she does. She had a decent amount of pokes and deflections. Especially in the open court.     Has a strong understanding of how to move without the ball. She cuts to the right spots, cuts at the right time, and doesn't waste a dribble after the catch. She gets right to the rim and makes those quick decisions count.     Solid ball handler who can get to her spots and create her own shot. She also has a strong triple threat game and has no problem letting it fly when the shot is there.     There's no chance you get by JaZarria without being tired. She uses her size to get underneath her matchup, stay attached, and make them second guess every move they make with the ball.    #401 - A mobile post who can put the ball on the floor and make something happen. Isn't afraid to guard out on the perimeter, and she's big on communication on the defensive end.
