2029: The Next Wave

One of my favorite movie series is the Minions. I love the comedy of it and all the gibber jabber stuff that these cartoon movies portray. Gru, a character in these movies, used to have that “light bulb” moment every now and then.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>That saying triggered something in me when I thought about the 2029 class. This upcoming season, we will see a light bulb go off in a lot of these rising sophomores. It's not that they were in the dark or couldn't play, but their roles and contributions will be truly valuable this upcoming season. Based on different factors such as their size, skills, and other abilities, you will see this 29 class depend more on them to help achieve their school's goals this upcoming season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I can't call them overvalued or overlooked, but I am saying these kids will be an important piece in what their school will be doing this upcoming season. These girls bring something special to the table and it will be on display for all to see. She's battle-tested and has improved her game throughout the year. One who can get buckets from multiple spots on the floor, she too is a solid distributor who can fit the ball through tight windows. It will be interesting to see how she helps this SC attack this upcoming season. She has warranted the coach's trust by showcasing her hard work in the gym and getting after it during the summer. She is a solid defender who makes it tough for opponents to have a clean look at the rim. She's solid on the boards, a great teammate, one who plays with energy and effort. Playing with more confidence, look for her to excel this upcoming season and star in her role. A leader on the floor, she is going to find ways to go at an opponent. A three-level scoring threat, she is going to find ways to exploit a defense. From deep, by attacking, she can, in multiple ways, infiltrate whatever defense is thrown at her. She has grown as a leader, one who leads both vocally and by example. Her game continues to shine, and both opponents, teammates, and coaches have taken notice. She is a solid two-way player who does work on both ends of the court. A terror, she is going to find ways to put the ball in the net in more ways than one. She has a nice mid-range game and can exploit the arc, but attacking gaps and finishing are what she does best. I love how she plays with a motor. She doesn't rest on either end of the court. She will be an asset to a lethal PC attack. She's the missing link for a ballclub looking to take the next step towards state contention. M&amp;M adds some much-needed size and power to this group. A kid who can work inside, but also stretch the floor to unleash a nice 3-point shot. She is big time on the boards and can block shots as well. Had a solid travel ball season and will look to capitalize on it and carry that momentum into this season.
