Fall Rankings Rundown: 2028 Centers

It's September, which means it's time for the rankings throughout the site to be updated. About a week ago we released the updated list of 2028 prospects, but I would like to turn my attention to the centers in this article. Below is a list of those prospects with "center" listed as their primary position, followed by some attention for the newcomers, and a look at a couple of ladies who are on the rise.   .    NEWCOMERS:    Elle is a very tall, long, wiry-strong athlete who plays multiple sports at Marian. She is also a talented volleyball player and softball player. On the basketball court, she possesses good face-up skill, and she pairs nicely with classmate [player_tooltip player_id='1678149' first='Kariya' last='Byer'], because while Byer can be a physical monster and do work inside, Elle can play effectively in the mid-post or she can step out to around the arc and knock down the occasional 3-point shot as well. I think she has a lot of potential in hoops, but her focus is likely in another sport.     Over about the last decade, Warren Central always seems to have a couple of nice, long athletes who can run and jump but just need a little work. Eryn fits that description to a tee. As she continues to grow and get stronger, look for her confidence to build, and she should become more efficient offensively. Defensively, however, she does a nice job of using her length to protect the paint, she can pursue rebounds or box out, and she has the physical ability to come out and defend the perimeter a little.    .   STOCK-RISERS:    Naomi is an interesting prospect, because she is still waiting to make an impact at Brownsburg, but she has already drawn a great deal of college attention due to her participation in the Springs and Summers. She has an athletic frame with good strength, she runs the floor North/South extremely well, and she has done a nice job of developing a skillset. She's starting to catch and finish better in transition, and her post skill is becoming more instinctual and less robotic. She is all upside, and her future is very bright.     Zyah is another frontline prospect in this 2028 class whose best days are well ahead of her. She is extremely long, wiry, fluidly athletic, and somewhat bouncy. She can get out and run, she is also catching the ball better in transition and finishing more consistently, and she is a problem defensively. She can affect shots outside of her area because of her length and athleticism, plus she'll just scare guards from penetrating. As she continues to get stronger, look for her to only improve more rapidly.     Kendall put together a really nice Spring, but she had an outstanding June and July. She is a long, wiry-strong, fluidly athletic front-liner who can get out and run the floor with speed. She has solid low-block skill, but she has also worked on her face-up game. As a Freshman, she was good in the mid-range, but now she's starting to consistently knock down a 3-pointer or two per game. Defensively, she can cover ground quickly and block jump-shooters, plus she can sit down and guard some bigger wings. She's a nice talent.
