Final Notes on Players From the Freshman Showcase

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Another PGH Wisconsin Freshman Showcase is in the books. About 90 players made the trip to the Champions Center, and plenty of notable players stood out. We will look at the 5v5 teams and discuss what each player brought to the table when I saw them play. I'll highlight a few players later because of number changes and to make sure I know who I took notes on. Bo-ilanga is confident enough to attack her initial defender off the dribble and put pressure on defenses in the paint. I also thought she looked impressive defensively and made plays on the ball. Her ability to make plays defensively will help her make plays at the varsity level at some point. Olson is a confident player who shoots whenever she has space and spaces the floor for her teammates. Her ability to knock down shots will help her team whenever she gets on the floor. Olson's ability to excel in an off-ball role will be valuable in a backcourt. I liked how well she ran the floor every change of possession, which showed how much pride she takes in doing the little things well. I thought she showed she could compete with larger players around the basket, and every coach she has will appreciate the edge she brings. She has the range and release to shoot over most defenders who will close out. I also like how well she can make plays on the defensive end, force live-ball turnovers, and get her team in transition.
