Talk about the feeling I got when I recognized the talent the 2030 class is about to bring to the table. The 30 class is deep, tough, and ready to come in and compete for minutes right away this upcoming season. Size, speed, versatility- they bring a different type of mindset that I haven't seen in a while. This year is going to be good, and you better believe the 30s will be in the mix early and often.

Recapping the performance of the 30 class at The Expo, they did their thing and held their own against the upperclassmen. It was more of a “hello, I'm here” versus just trying to fit in and flow. I've always said game recognizes game, and the respect level the older ones gave the 30s was pretty impressive. There was no backing down, but more of an intro to what the 30s are gonna be doing this year. I've touched on a few already, but here are just a few 30s to look forward to this upcoming season.

A heady PG who plays with pace and space. She picked her spots and showcased that she knew how to command the floor. Took great shots that hit the bottom of the net, got in the paint, and finished. She brought a total game to the showcase and displayed so much. She is a kid who will be interesting to follow over the next couple of years. One who will be an impactful PG over the coming years.

She's a Swiss Army knife that competes at a high level. She just balls-out and brings a solid two-way game to the party. She can knife through defenses and knock down shots from multiple spots on the floor. What impresses me the most is that she is willing to challenge whoever is in front of her and give them work. She is nice on the defensive end too. Not backing down, she is in a solid stance, ready to move, keeping her opponent in front of her. Look for her to be a big-time contributor and help FRA reach new heights.

A kid who can score from all over the floor. Off the bounce, catch-and-shoot, she's always in position to put the ball in the hole. She not only held her own at the Expo but also showcased her range and her quickness with the ball in her hands. She also got after it defensively. Look for her to be a solid piece to this up-and-coming Siegel Stars team. She will get a lot of minutes early and often.

A kid who just competes. She's a shooter who can knock it down from 3 but can also finish on the inside. She moves well without the ball, in position to receive a pass and ready to shoot. You can tell she's confident, ready to strike at any given time. She's a solid two-way player who could see some early court time. Look for her to be a nice addition to this MJ squad.

A kid who is going to turn a lot of heads this coming year. A big physical presence who is a nice finisher in the paint. Physically, she is going to lower her shoulder to gain ground on the opposition. She has a nice set of moves that enable her to finish over either shoulder. Putting the ball in the hole won't be a problem for her, so expect her to finish in double digits right from the start. One thing I like about her game is her ability to rebound the basketball. She goes after it aggressively, right at its highest point. Look for her to compete for her Columbia Academy team early and often. The sky is the limit for this young lady.
