KY Freshman Showcase: My Three Most Exciting Players to Watch

I enjoyed watching girls I hadn't seen before bring charisma and a competitive attitude to the court. Because that's exactly how she plays. She's a defensive specialist who makes every opponent's pass, dribble and shot the hardest thing they've done all day. When you think you've escaped her, there she is again, like a relentless pest you can't get rid of. I love how Kymber plays! She's a hard worker, extremely quick and maintains a short memory when things don't go her way. She's the exact profile of a player that any coach would be lucky to have. With a strong build, she is a force to contain when she gets on the move. And just when you want to classify her as only wanting the drive, she will pull a 3 in your face with a smooth stroke. I was impressed also by how loudly and how often she communicates with teammates, considering these were just teams assembled for the showcase. Kenley wills her way to the basket and also boasts a tough fadeaway jumper. When I wasn't scouting her, I found myself looking to see what she was doing on the other court. She's just that good! Leighton's presence is felt on both ends of the court. She's strong, active and has what feels like and endless motor. She often took on other teams' bigs and didn't back down. She performs well in the paint with strong, low post-ups. Leighton plays with fire and seems to have a passion for competing. And again, since I love great passing, I must highlight her strong, hard passes.
